8x Analogue + Up to 12 IP Cameras | Max 8MP Analog & Max 12MP IP
Introducing the IVSEC DVR8-5000, a powerful hybrid solution designed for users who want to preserve their existing coaxial infrastructure while embracing modern IP cameras. Enjoy the flexibility of a maximum of 8 analogue ports or support for up to 12 IP channels via a network switch in any combination—packed into one DVR. Whether you have older Swann coax cameras or wish to incorporate advanced ONVIF-compatible 4K IP cameras, this device gives you the freedom to gradually upgrade without a total system overhaul. (max 12 channels in any combination: (Coax+IP) 8+4, 6+6, 4+8, etc.)
Do you have 8 existing older-style BNC Coax Cameras? 5 of them work and 3 don't? Well this is the solution → Upgrade to the DVR8-5000 and plug in your 5 working analogue cameras, then add IP cameras via a PoE switch to the system. Gradually, as each older camera stops working, replace its cable and camera while continuing to expand the IP side. In total, you can run up to 8 analogue cameras or up to 12 IP cameras, with a maximum of 12 cameras simultaneously!
For those Swann customers that have an older style SWDVR that want to keep their existing Swann BNC style cameras, this is the option. If you have a SWDVR-4480, 4580, 4880, 4685, 4680, 5580, 5680 then this recorder will support your existing cameras.
The IVSEC DVR8-5000 not only handles legacy AHD, CVI, TVI, D1, or CIF cameras (in all resolutions up to 8 MP), but also supports IP cams in all resolutions to 12 MP via a 64 Mbps incoming bandwidth. This capacity ensures you can integrate high-resolution cameras now—or in the future—without sacrificing video quality or performance. Save costs by reusing your existing equipment, and then add new IP cameras at your own pace. The recorder has the flexibility to adjust all settings, resolution, frame rate, bit rate, compression etc.
With advanced features like H.265/H.264 encoding, 4K Ultra HD output, and intelligent detection (model-dependent), you’ll have the latest security technology in one sleek recorder. Plus, the included 2 TB HDD offers ample recording storage, and you can upgrade to a 10 TB drive for truly extended capture times.
*** A PoE network switch is required for IP cameras, as it provides both power and data over a single Cat5e or Cat6 cable. Many customers already have IP cameras on their home network; simply connect them via the recorder’s Ethernet port. The recorder will scan the network and automatically add the cameras to its device list. For those needing additional capacity, we stock a range of PoE switches from 4 to 48 ports, ensuring a suitable option for every installation.

In addition to coax-based cameras, the IVSEC DVR8-5000 seamlessly works with ONVIF-compliant IP cameras from a wide range of brands—like Dahua, Swann, Hikvision, IVSEC, VIP Vision, UNIARCH, and many others. If your camera supports the ONVIF standard, you can typically add it to the IVDVR8-5000 without fuss. This flexibility ensures you won’t be locked into a single vendor or forced to replace compatible cameras you already own. Some features are camera-based; however, viewing and recording are universally supported.
From Swann SWPRO/SWNHD cameras to popular third-party brands like Dahua, Hikvision, Bosch, Honeywell, Pelco, Vivotek, ACTi, and more—this hybrid DVR ensures you can integrate cameras from virtually any manufacturer supporting ONVIF or coax standards (AHD, CVI, TVI, D1). It’s an ideal solution for those who want to combine old and new technology without incurring the cost of a complete overhaul.
--> It is important to note some older Swann SWNHD network cameras may not function or require confirguration. (The following SWNHD-820, 821,830, 831, 840, 815, 816, 819 will not function easily and will require configuration).
