The Hikvision DS-2CD2387G2H-LISU/SL is an 8 MP 4K fixed turret that keeps full colour through the night using Smart Hybrid Light (IR + warm white), then escalates to a strobe-and-siren warning the moment AcuSense detects a human or vehicle. Built for Australian driveways, warehouse perimeters and retail frontage.

This is a STANDALONE 4K IP CAMERA — it is a complete camera by itself, but most installs pair it with a PoE NVR or PoE switch.

The DS-2CD2387G2H-LISU/SL will operate standalone — point it at the network, power via PoE or 12 VDC and configure via web browser or iVMS-4200. Most professional installs record to a Hikvision PoE NVR or a third-party ONVIF-compatible VMS.

Smart Hybrid Light. Colour that doesn’t quit at dusk.

The DS-2CD2387G2H-LISU/SL combines ColorVu F1.0 optics with a Smart Hybrid IR + warm-white LED array. By default the camera stays in low-draw IR mode and preserves 24/7 colour detail down to 0.0008 lux; when AcuSense sees a target it can switch in warm light to lock the scene in true colour and activate the built-in strobe.

Every frame is captured at 3840 × 2160 at 25 fps with H.265+ compression and 130 dB True-WDR — the colour performance and detail level Australian regulators, insurers and investigators actually ask for.

DETECTION · 02

AcuSense G2 + LiveGuard. AI that sees, warns and records.

Onboard AcuSense 2.0 runs deep-learning classification directly on the camera — it separates humans and vehicles from wind, rain, branches and stray wildlife. When a genuine target crosses a line, enters a region or loiters, the camera triggers a LiveGuard response: the built-in 1.2 W / 95 dB speaker plays an audible warning while the white-light LEDs strobe.

Line-crossing, intrusion, region entrance and region exiting all honour the target filter. Every event can trigger strobe + siren locally and notify your NVR, Hik-Connect push alerts, email, or a third-party alarm input.

IP67 turret built for Australian sun, salt and storms.

Metal body, ingress-protected to IP67 (IEC 60529-2013), rated for −30 °C to 60 °C operation. Ethernet cabling runs through a sealed cable gland and the 3-axis mount gives Pan 0–360°, Tilt 0–75° and Rotate 0–360° for awkward eaves and soffits.

Single-cable PoE (IEEE 802.3af Class 3) powers the camera, the speaker, the white-light strobe and the alarm relays up to a 10.5 W budget — no local 240 V and no spur transformer in the mount.

Frequently asked questions

Will this camera work with my existing non-Hikvision NVR?

Yes, via ONVIF Profile S/G/T and ISAPI. Most current-generation Dahua, Uniview, Milestone and Synology Surveillance Station deployments accept 4K H.265+ from this camera. For AcuSense event push on a non-Hikvision platform, verify your NVR supports Hikvision ISAPI event posting first.

How do I power it — PoE or 12 V DC?

Either. A standard 802.3af PoE switch or NVR PoE port supplies power and data on one cable. Alternatively a 12 VDC adapter in a GPO powers the camera and you run Ethernet separately. PoE is the professional default.

Does it need a subscription to work?

No. The Hik-Connect app and cloud service is free. AcuSense runs locally on the camera — it does not require a cloud AI subscription. Optional paid cloud storage is available but not required.

What microSD card should I use?

An endurance-graded surveillance microSD (WD Purple or Hikvision HS-TF-L2I) up to 512 GB. Consumer microSD cards will wear out within months of 24/7 surveillance write.

Is it compatible with Google Home or Amazon Alexa?

Hik-Connect on iOS and Android is the primary interface. Amazon Alexa voice control and Google Home view-casting are supported via Hik-Connect. Direct IFTTT or smart-home bridge scenes are not officially supported.

Can I run this over Wi-Fi?

No — this is a wired-Ethernet camera. For Wi-Fi, choose a Hikvision ezviz or DS-2CV camera variant. Wired is the professional choice for 4K AcuSense: 802.3af PoE over Cat 6 delivers reliable power and enough bandwidth for triple-stream 4K.

Will the white strobe annoy neighbours or confuse tradespeople?

You choose when it triggers. By default the Smart Hybrid Light stays in IR mode; the white-light strobe and speaker only fire on AcuSense events (e.g. human crossing a defined line at night). You can schedule, disable, or limit the deterrence response to specific times and specific rules.

Is this the same camera as the DS-2CD2387G2-LSU/SL (no H)?

No. The “H” G2H revision upgrades to F1.0 optics and Smart Hybrid Light (IR + warm-white hybrid) for improved low-light performance. It is a newer generation.

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). The DS-2CD2387G2H-LISU/SL is a 12 VDC / IEEE 802.3af PoE IP camera. There is no mains wiring inside the device. A standard plug-in 12 V DC adapter in an existing GPO is fine to use as-is, or the camera can be powered directly off a PoE switch or PoE NVR port — no electrician is required to power the unit.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed structured data cabling between the camera, the PoE switch/NVR and any remote rack or ceiling run is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be performed by an ACMA-registered cabler. New GPOs, rack mains or any modification to the premises wiring is the job of a licensed electrician under AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules.
