The Hikvision DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL (BLACK, 2.8 mm) is an 8 MP 4K turret with human/vehicle AcuSense classification, 120 dB WDR, active strobe and audio alarm, and built‐in two‐way audio with speaker and microphone. It is a self‐contained network camera: add a recorder or VMS to match your retention needs.

The DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL is a full network camera on one cable, but it does not include an NVR, hard drive or cloud subscription. You will typically add a PoE switch or NVR to record, or run event-only to the card or VMS of your choice.

The 1/1.8" sensor behind F1.6 × 2.8 mm optics delivers 111° horizontal coverage with a main stream at 3840 × 2160 up to 25 fps (50 Hz) per the official datasheet, with H.265+, H.265, H.264+ and H.264.

Minimum scene illumination is documented at 0.003 lux in colour (F1.6, AGC on) and 0 lux in monochrome with 850 nm Smart IR out to 30 m.

The SL suffix brings a visual strobe and audible warning path you can link to smart events, alongside the built‐in speaker and microphone for two‐way communication and line‐level audio I/O on terminal blocks.

Frequently asked questions

What does ISU/SL mean on the model name?

ISU denotes built‐in two‐way audio. SL denotes the active strobe and audible‐warning feature set on the Hikvision datasheet. This listing is the 2.8 mm fixed lens variant.

What capacity microSD card can I use?

Hikvision documents up to 512 GB microSD / SDHC / SDXC in the current DS‐2CD2386G2‐ISU/SL‐C datasheet. Use a surveillance‐rated endurance card for continuous write.

How much PoE does the camera need?

The datasheet lists 802.3af Class 3 PoE with a maximum 10 W draw on PoE and 9 W on 12 VDC. Use a PSE that can deliver Class 3 on the run length you need.

Will it work with my non‐Hikvision NVR?

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). The DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL is powered by IEEE 802.3af PoE or a 12 VDC plug-pack. There is no mains wiring inside the device. A standard plug-in 12 VDC adapter in an existing GPO is fine to use as-is for bench testing; most permanent installs use PoE from a switch or NVR port.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed structured data cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Strobe/audible deterrence: configure per local privacy and sound-level rules. New GPOs or switchboard work require a licensed electrician under AS/NZS 3000.
