Uniarch CABLE-CAT6-BU 305 metre Cat6 cable carton
Uniarch · Cat6 UTP · 305 m

Solid copper Cat6,
for every PoE camera run.

This is the Uniarch CABLE-CAT6-BU. A 305 m box of blue Cat6 UTP with 24AWG solid bare copper conductors, verified to Australian standard AS/CA S008:2020 and printed with metre markings.

In one sentence: the CABLE-CAT6-BU is 305 m of Cat6 UTP with 24AWG solid bare copper, HDPE insulation, a 5.8 mm blue PVC sheath, rip-cord and cross separator, in a pull-out carton.

One 305 m box. Connectors and tools are separate.

The cable pays out from a plastic shaft inside the carton, so it does not kink or tangle as you pull it.

In the box
  • 305 m ±1 m blue Cat6 UTP cable
  • Carton with plastic pay-out shaft
You also need
  • RJ45 plugs or keystone jacks
  • A crimp or punch-down tool
  • A cable tester
  • A licensed cabler for fixed building wiring

Bare copper, not copper-clad aluminium.

PoE cameras draw power down the same cable as the video. Solid bare copper at 24AWG keeps DC resistance to 95 Ω/km or less, so cameras at the far end of a run still get the power they need.

Uniarch Cat6 305m pull-box carton with standards printed on the side

Standards

Verified to AS/CA S008:2020.

Tested to ISO/IEC 11801 and TIA-568-C.2. The sheath is RoHS and REACH compliant PVC, printed every metre with length markings so you can see how much is left.

Uniarch Cat6 UTP cable cross-section with four pairs, separator and rip-cord

Construction

Four pairs, cross separator, rip-cord.

0.52 mm conductors in HDPE insulation, twisted in four colour-coded pairs around a cross separator, with a rip-cord under the 5.8 mm sheath for quick stripping.

How it goes in

From the box to a tested link.

01

Pull from the box

Feed the cable from the carton’s pay-out hole; the shaft stops it twisting.

02

Run and fix

Keep runs under 90 m of fixed cable, away from mains, without tight bends or crushing.

03

Terminate

Strip with the rip-cord and fit RJ45 plugs or jacks to T568A or T568B.

04

Test

Test every run before connecting the camera or switch.

Pair it with

What goes with it

Recorder

Uniarch PoE NVR

Power and record each camera over one Cat6 run.

Cameras

Uniarch IP cameras

6MP and 8MP turrets, bullets and domes.

Ends

RJ45 plugs and jacks

Cat6-rated plugs or keystones for each end.

Testing

Cable tester

Check every pair before you connect.

Copper-clad aluminium (CCA) cable has higher resistance and is a poor choice for PoE. Figures from the Uniarch datasheet.

Common questions

Is it solid copper?

Yes. 24AWG solid bare copper conductors, not copper-clad aluminium, with DC resistance of 95 Ω/km or less.

Is it suitable for PoE cameras?

Yes. Solid copper Cat6 is what PoE cameras and NVRs are designed for, up to 100 m per channel.

How long can a run be?

Ethernet allows 100 m per channel: up to 90 m of fixed cable plus patch leads. For longer distances add a PoE switch or extender.

Can it go outside?

The sheath is standard PVC for indoor use. Outdoors or underground, run it in UV-rated conduit or use an outdoor-rated cable.

Is it shielded?

No. It is UTP (unshielded twisted pair), the usual choice for CCTV and office networks.

Does it meet Australian standards?

It is verified to AS/CA S008:2020 and tested to ISO/IEC 11801 and TIA-568-C.2.

How do I know how much is left?

The sheath is printed with a length marking every metre.

What connectors does it take?

Standard Cat6 RJ45 plugs or keystone jacks for 0.52 mm (24AWG) solid conductors.

Does it come on a reel?

It pays out from a plastic shaft inside the carton, so you can pull it straight from the box without a reel stand.

What colour is it?

Blue sheath with four colour-coded pairs: blue, orange, green and brown with their white partners.

Do I need a licensed cabler?

In Australia, fixed cabling inside buildings must be installed by a registered cabler. Patch leads and plug-in connections do not need one.

What is the warranty?

Covered against manufacturing faults. Contact us first and we will organise any claim.

Supported by Infront Technologies.

Installation and safety

Cabling rules. Fixed telecommunications cabling in Australia must be installed by a registered cabler to AS/CA S009.

Separation. Keep data cable separated from mains wiring and do not exceed the cable’s bend radius.
