Akuvox A05C is a 5-inch facial recognition access terminal. A 2 MP WDR camera with infrared liveness detection recognises enrolled faces in under 200 ms and rejects photos and videos, while 13.56 MHz cards, NFC, Bluetooth and QR codes cover everyone else. IP65, PoE, Wiegand and RS485.

Face recognition in under 200 ms.

The AK-A05C is Akuvox’s A05C: a slim 5-inch access terminal that opens the door by face. An infrared liveness check stops photos and videos, and the same unit also reads cards, Android NFC, Bluetooth and QR codes — so nobody is left at the door.

This SKU is the access terminal only.

You receive the A05C terminal for surface mounting. The in-wall kit, rain hood, cards, Bkey fobs, exit button, lock and lock power supply are sold separately.

Hands-free entry that cannot be fooled by a photo.

Enrolled staff and residents simply look at the screen. For visitors, contractors and anyone not enrolled, a card, phone or QR code does the job — and every entry lands in the same log.

Face

A 2 MP camera that checks for a real face.

The 2 MP WDR camera recognises an enrolled face in under 200 ms and stores up to 20,000 faces. Its view is 36° across and 62° top to bottom, so tall and short users are both in frame.

Infrared liveness detection rejects printed photos and videos on a screen. The 5-inch 720 × 1280 IPS display shows the user their result.

Every credential

Card, phone or QR when a face is not enrolled.

The reader takes 13.56 MHz cards — up to 20,000 — and Android phones over NFC. Bluetooth 5.0 lets enrolled phones and Akuvox Bkey fobs unlock too.

QR codes suit visitors and deliveries who have no card and are not enrolled for face access.

Wiring

Controller on board, readers off it.

A relay output drives the lock and an input takes an exit button. A tamper alarm covers removal from the wall.

Wiegand and RS485 connect it to an Akuvox or third-party access controller. IP65 lets it work outdoors from −20 °C to +60 °C.

How it works

From wall to face-only entry.

Mount

Surface-mount on the supplied bracket, or flush-mount with the E16/A05 in-wall kit. Add the rain hood on exposed walls.

Power and wire

Run PoE to the RJ45, then wire the relay to the lock supply and the input to the exit button.

Enrol faces

Enrol faces and cards through the web portal, Akuvox Cloud or ACMS, and set schedules and access levels.

Test

Check recognition for several users, try a photo to confirm it is refused, and test card, NFC and Bluetooth.

Common questions

Can someone get in with a photo of an enrolled face?

No. The A05C uses dual infrared camera liveness detection to reject printed photos and videos played on a screen.

How many faces can it store?

Up to 20,000 faces, plus 20,000 cards and 50,000 access log entries. Recognition takes under 200 ms.

Which cards does it read?

13.56 MHz cards, plus NFC from Android phones. It does not read 125 kHz cards.

What else can open the door?

Bluetooth 5.0 from an enrolled phone or Akuvox Bkey fob, and QR codes — handy for visitors who are not enrolled.

Does it measure body temperature or detect masks?

No. Those functions are only on the A05C (MD01) and A05C (MD02) module versions; this SKU is the standard A05C.

How is it powered and wired?

IEEE 802.3af PoE or 12 V DC. It has one relay output, one input, Wiegand and RS485; the lock needs its own power supply.

Can it be flush-mounted?

It surface-mounts on the supplied bracket as standard. For a flush finish use the Akuvox E16/A05 in-wall installation kit, sold separately.

Facial recognition access.

Choose the A05C for offices, gyms and apartment lobbies where hands-free entry matters. Add the in-wall kit for a flush finish.

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). Power from IEEE 802.3af PoE or a 12 V DC supply. Treat as SELV low-voltage equipment.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.
