The AK-E12S-2-SILVER is Akuvox’s E12S-2: the compact E12 villa doorbell with black glass and a brushed silver panel, re-engineered for 2-wire. It upgrades an old analogue door station to a smart SIP intercom without running new cable.

This SKU is the doorbell only.

You receive the E12S-2 door phone with its standard mounting hardware. Indoor monitors, an NS-2 switch, power supply and lock hardware are sold separately.

    Compact enough for any entry.

    Plastic body just 146 × 70 × 23 mm with a black glass top and brushed silver call-button panel, surface-mounted beside the door.

    IP65 rated and working from −40 °C to +55 °C, with a tamper alarm.

    Answer from anywhere.

    Calls ring the C313W-2 or S562W-2 indoor monitor and, through it, the Akuvox SmartPlus app — so you can see visitors and open the door from your phone.

    Family and staff can also enter with a 13.56 MHz MIFARE or DESFire card, or by NFC on Android phones.

    Common questions

    How is the E12S-2 different from the E12S?

    Same compact housing, camera and reader, but the E12S-2 takes power and network over a 2-wire pair instead of Ethernet/PoE, so it can reuse old doorbell or analogue intercom cabling.

    What does it connect to?

    Akuvox 2-wire indoor monitors (C313W-2, S562W-2) directly, or an Akuvox NS-2 switch when several 2-wire devices share the system.

    Do I need a separate power supply at the door?

    No. The two-pin connection carries both power and network, fed from the NS-2 switch or the 2-wire indoor monitor's power adapter.

    How many cards and users does it hold?

    Up to 1,000 users and 5,000 cards (13.56 MHz MIFARE and DESFire EV1 / EV2 / EV3). It does not read 125 kHz EM cards — choose the R20A-2 or R20K-2 for those.

    Can it open a gate or door?

    Yes. One relay drives a strike or gate lock, triggered by card, NFC, the indoor monitor or the SmartPlus app.

    Is it weatherproof?

    Yes — IP65, working from −40 °C to +55 °C. Add the E12 rain hood on exposed doors, or the angle bracket where it sits side-on to visitors.

    Is an indoor monitor included?

    No. This SKU is the doorbell only; the 2-wire monitor and NS-2 switch are sold separately or as part of an Akuvox 2-wire kit.

    Choose the E12S-2 for houses and townhouses where a compact doorbell suits the entry; the R20A-2 is an aluminium single-button alternative and the R20K-2 adds a keypad.

    Installation & safety notice

    Low-voltage product (SELV). Powered over the 2-wire pair — the two-pin connection carries both power and network — from an Akuvox NS-2 switch or a 2-wire indoor monitor fed by its power adapter.

    When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.

    The E12S-2 has one relay for a strike or gate lock; power the lock from its own supply and fit a suppression diode across DC lock coils.
