Akuvox · A15 · Access control terminal

Face recognition for a narrow door frame.
Six ways in, 50 mm wide.

The AK-A15 is Akuvox’s compact access control terminal (datasheet model A15S). An ultra-narrow bezel wraps a 4.59-inch touchscreen, two 2 MP cameras and a 13.56 MHz / NFC reader, with Wiegand, RS485, two relays and four inputs for third-party access systems.

In the box

The A15 ships with a wall-mounting bracket, template, wiring cover, cables and fixings for surface mounting. The in-wall installation box, indoor monitors, PoE switch, lock and cards are sold separately.

In the box
  • Akuvox A15 terminal
  • Wall-mounting bracket and template
  • Wiring cover, rubber plugs and wall anchors
  • Pin cables, screws, Torx wrench and diode
What you also need(sold separately)
  • PoE 802.3at switch / injector, or 12 V DC 2 A supply
  • Electric lock, strike or maglock
  • 13.56 MHz MIFARE / DESFire cards or fobs
  • Optional Akuvox indoor monitor or SmartPlus app

Access control and intercom in one slim unit.

Fit it on a narrow mullion or beside an office door. Staff walk in by face or Bluetooth; visitors call through the video intercom; contractors use a card, PIN or QR code.

Wiring

Power the lock from the terminal.

Whether fed by PoE+ or a DC adapter, the A15 can pass power through to a peripheral such as a magnetic lock or card reader — 12 V DC / 0.5 A on PoE+, or 12 V DC / 1 A on DC input.

That means one cable to the door instead of separate lock power, cutting material and labour on new installs and retrofits.

Access

Six unlock modes, open interfaces.

Face recognition in under 200 ms at 99.7% accuracy, MIFARE / DESFire EV2 / EV3 / FeliCa cards, PIN, QR code, Bluetooth and mobile entry, with up to 5,000 users and 25,000 cards.

Wiegand, RS485 and two relays connect to third-party access control systems. The body is rated IP65 and IK07, with a −20 °C to +55 °C working range.

How it works

From bare wall to first entry.

01

Mount

Fix the supplied wall bracket using the template, or install the optional in-wall box for a flush finish.

02

Wire and power

Connect PoE+ or 12 V DC, the lock to a relay, and exit button or door sensor to the inputs.

03

Enrol

Use the web portal to add users, faces, cards and PINs, or link the A15 to your access system over Wiegand or RS485.

04

Test

Check face, card and PIN entry and confirm each relay releases its lock.

Answers

Common questions

Is the A15 an intercom or an access reader?

Both. It is an access control terminal with face, card, PIN, QR, BLE and mobile entry, plus SIP video intercom.

Does it read 125 kHz proximity cards?

No. The reader is 13.56 MHz only — MIFARE, DESFire EV2 / EV3 and FeliCa — plus NFC.

Can it power my lock?

Yes, small loads. It outputs 12 V DC up to 0.5 A when powered by PoE+, or up to 1 A when powered by 12 V DC.

Is a mounting bracket included?

Yes, a wall-mounting bracket and template are in the box. A flush in-wall installation box is available separately.

A narrow terminal for real-world doors.

Choose the A15 for offices, shared buildings and retrofit projects that want facial recognition and intercom on a tight frame. Order through Infront Technologies for Australian supply and help with cards, lock power and integration.

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). Power from IEEE 802.3at PoE or a 12 V DC / 2 A supply as stated on the Akuvox A15 datasheet. The power output supplies 12 V DC / 0.5 A from PoE+ or 12 V DC / 1 A from a DC input.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.
