The AK-A02 is Akuvox’s A02S. It shares the A01’s 86 × 86 mm glass-and-aluminium body but the glass is a touch keypad, so the same door takes PIN codes as well as RFID cards and NFC phones.

This SKU is the access terminal only.

You receive the A02S terminal. Cards, fobs, the on-wall box, exit button, lock and lock power supply are sold separately.

Codes for visitors, cards for staff.

Give cleaners and contractors a PIN instead of a card, and staff a card or phone. The A02S controls the lock itself and logs every entry, whether on its own or managed through Akuvox Cloud.

Keypad

A touch keypad under the glass.

The numbers light up on the toughened glass front. There are no buttons to wear out or prise off, and it stores up to 20,000 PINs.

Use PINs on their own, or alongside cards for users who forget theirs. Each code is tied to a user, so the log shows who came in.

Reader

Cards and Android phones too.

The 13.56 MHz and 125 kHz reader takes most building cards and fobs, and Android phones unlock over NFC.

20,000 users and 20,000 cards, with 100,000 access log entries to search and export.

Controller

One relay, two inputs, Wiegand.

The relay drives the lock and the two inputs take an exit button and a door sensor. A tamper alarm covers removal from the wall.

The Wiegand port is selectable as input or output, so the A02S can add a second reader or act as a reader for a larger controller.

Fit the A02S over an 86 junction box or on the A01/A02/A03 on-wall box.

Wire the door

Run PoE to the RJ45, then wire the relay to the lock supply and the inputs to the exit button and door sensor.

Add users

Create users with PINs, cards or both in the web portal, Akuvox Cloud or ACMS, with schedules and access levels.

Test

Try a PIN, a card and an Android phone, press the exit button and check the logs.

How many PIN codes can it hold?

Up to 20,000 PINs, alongside 20,000 users and 20,000 cards.

Can a user have both a card and a PIN?

Yes. Each user can be given a PIN, a card or both.

Does it need a separate controller?

No. The relay, two inputs and tamper alarm are built in, so it runs one door by itself.

How is it powered?

From IEEE 802.3af PoE, or a 12 V DC supply.

Is it weatherproof?

Yes — IP65 and IK07, working from −20 °C to +55 °C.

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). Power from IEEE 802.3af PoE or a 12 V DC supply, as stated on the Akuvox A02S datasheet. Treat as SELV low-voltage equipment.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.
