Why 2-wire still wins

The expensive part is the chase

Brick, render, heritage fabric — pulling new data cable is the job nobody wants. NC-2 is the hop that lets the existing pair carry IP and PoE to one door.

Need six endpoints on a riser? That is the NS-2 hub, sold separately. Many plants use both: NS-2 in the comms room, NC-2 where a single Ethernet leaf still has to ride copper.

Do not confuse NC-2 with NS-2

The letters look similar. The hardware is not. NC-2 is this compact adaptor (one pair). NS-2 is the six-pair rail hub.

Is NC-2 the same as NS-2?

No. NC-2 is one RJ45 and one 2-wire pair. NS-2 is the six-pair rail hub. Order NS-2 when the riser needs multiple endpoints.

Does it do PoE?

Yes — PoE output on the RJ45 side, per the NC-2 datasheet.

How do I power it?

48 V DC locally, or from an Akuvox NS-2 plant.

Is a doorphone included?

No. This listing is the adaptor only. The door station and indoor monitor are the pieces the household actually sees.
