The AK-S535 is Akuvox’s modular 5-inch facial recognition door station. A Linux touchscreen, two 2 MP cameras and a dual-frequency card reader fit into a 210 × 100 mm aluminium plate, with an expansion port underneath for an optional fingerprint, induction loop or LTE module.

This SKU is the S535 door station only.

You receive the S535 main unit with its wiring accessories. Choose an on-wall or in-wall box to suit the site — they are sold separately, as are indoor monitors, PoE switch, lock hardware and any expansion module.

Residents are recognised in under 200 ms and the door releases without them touching anything. Visitors tap the directory and call a flat. Staff and contractors use a card, PIN, phone or a one-time QR code.

Recognition

Under 200 ms from glance to green light.

The 5-inch IPS touchscreen (720 × 1280) sits under a 2 MP main camera and a 2 MP auxiliary camera used for liveness detection. Akuvox quotes face matching in under 200 ms with 99.7% accuracy.

Up to 20,000 face templates, 100,000 cards and 100,000 PINs are held on the station. HDR video at up to 1080p / 30 fps streams over RTSP and ONVIF to your NVR.

Built for outside

IP66, IK08 and −40 °C rated.

An aluminium front panel rated IP66 for water and dust and IK08 for impact. Working temperature runs from −40 °C to +55 °C.

IR and white-light LEDs, a light sensor and a motion sensor keep the picture usable at night and wake the screen as someone approaches. Surface-mount or flush-mount with the matching S535 box.

Modular

Add a module when the site needs it.

The expansion port under the screen takes one Akuvox module: fingerprint (20,000 finger templates), induction loop for hearing-aid users, or LTE for sites without a data cable.

Modules plug in directly — no extra wiring — and add 50 mm to the height. Use the S535 expansion box so the taller plate still mounts flush.

Answers

Common questions

Is a mounting box included?

No. The S535 needs either the S535 on-wall box or the in-wall box, sold separately. If you will fit a module, use the expansion version of the box.

Can I add a fingerprint reader later?

Yes. The S535 has one expansion port for a fingerprint, induction loop or LTE module. Power the station off before fitting a module.

What power does it need?

IEEE 802.3at PoE+ or a 12 V DC / 3 A supply. Standard 802.3af PoE is not enough.

Can photos fool the face reader?

The S535 has a second camera dedicated to face-liveness detection, which checks that a real person — not a photo — is in front of the station.

How is it different from the S532?

S532 is a keypad door phone with a small 2.8″ display and no face recognition. S535 adds a 5″ touchscreen, facial recognition and QR codes.

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). Power from IEEE 802.3at PoE+ or a 12 V DC / 3 A supply as stated on the Akuvox S535 datasheet. A 12 V / 500 mA output is available for a small lock or reader.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.
