The AK-A08 is Akuvox’s A08S: a slim glass-fronted terminal in a dark grey aluminium frame. It takes PINs, QR codes, Bluetooth phones, RFID cards and NFC, and runs the door itself — in a body narrow enough for a glass-door mullion.

This SKU is the access terminal only.

You receive the A08S terminal. The in-wall box, Bkey fobs, cards, exit button, lock and lock power supply are sold separately.

Design

Glass and aluminium, 50 mm wide.

Toughened glass over a dark grey aluminium frame, 140 × 50 × 26.7 mm. It flush-mounts in the A08 in-wall box or surface-mounts on a frame or mullion.

Rated IP65 and IK09, so it handles weather and knocks on an outdoor entry from −20 °C to +55 °C.

Credentials

PIN, QR, Bluetooth, card and NFC.

The touch keypad lights up for PIN entry and the built-in scanner reads QR codes for visitors. Bluetooth 5.0 lets phones and Akuvox Bkey fobs unlock hands-free.

The 13.56 MHz and 125 kHz reader takes most building cards, and Android phones unlock over NFC. It holds 20,000 users, 20,000 PINs and 100,000 logs.

Integration

Controller, reader or both.

One relay, two inputs and a 12 V 600 mA output run a door on their own. A tamper alarm covers removal.

Wiegand (in or out), RS485 and OSDP let the A08S work as a reader for an Akuvox A094S/A095S or a third-party controller.

Run PoE to the RJ45, wire the relay to the lock supply and the inputs to the exit button and door sensor.

Will it fit on a glass-door mullion?

Yes. It is 50 mm wide and 26.7 mm deep, and can be surface-mounted on a frame or mullion.

Which cards does this version read?

13.56 MHz and 125 kHz cards, plus NFC on Android phones. For HID iCLASS and SEOS cards choose the A08S HID iCLASS version.

Can it connect to my existing access controller?

Yes. It supports Wiegand output, RS485 and OSDP, and can be switched to reader mode.

Does it work with the Akuvox Bkey?

Yes. Bluetooth 5.0 supports Akuvox Bkey fobs and phones running the Akuvox app.

How is it powered?

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). Power from IEEE 802.3af PoE or a 12 V DC supply, as stated on the Akuvox A08S datasheet. Treat as SELV low-voltage equipment.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.
