Smart video intercom,

The AK-2-WIREIPKITK is Akuvox’s 2-Wire IP Intercom Kit 201 for houses, villas and small offices. The power adapter feeds the C313W-2 monitor, and the monitor powers and talks to the R20A-2 door phone over the old intercom pair — so a full IP video upgrade needs no new cable to the door.

What’s in the kit

Akuvox 2-Wire IP Intercom Kit 201 contains one R20A-2 single-button video door phone with its wall-mounting bracket and fixings, one C313W-2 7″ indoor monitor with its wall bracket and cables, and one 24 V power adapter. Akuvox also bundles four SmartPlus app accounts with this kit. Lock hardware is not included.

Indoors

A 7″ touch monitor on the wall.

The C313W-2 shows the visitor, opens the door and also takes alarm inputs and camera feeds. It joins the home network over Wi-Fi or Ethernet.

Add more C313W-2 or S562W-2 monitors through an NS-2 for room-to-room calls.

The R20A-2 supports ONVIF and RTSP, so a third-party NVR on the network can record the door camera.

Wiegand and RS485 access control

The R20A-2 Wiegand port and RS485 connect a third-party access controller or reader.

Common questions

Exactly what is in the kit?

One R20A-2 2-wire video door phone, one C313W-2 7″ 2-wire indoor monitor and one 24 V DC power adapter, plus four free SmartPlus app accounts. Each device comes with its own mounting hardware.

Do I need new cable?

No — the door phone and monitor talk and share power over two wires, so an existing analogue intercom pair can be reused.

Do I need an NS-2 switch?

Not for this kit. The monitor is powered by the included adapter and powers the door phone. Add an NS-2 when you want more door phones or monitors.

Can I add more monitors or door phones later?

Yes. An Akuvox NS-2 powers and networks up to six 2-wire devices, such as extra C313W-2 or S562W-2 monitors and R20A-2 or R20K-2 door phones.

How do residents get in without calling?

Tap a 13.56 MHz or 125 kHz card, or an Android phone over NFC, on the R20A-2 — it stores up to 25,000 cards — or unlock from the SmartPlus app.

Does the app work without network cable?

Yes. The C313W-2 can connect to the home router over Wi-Fi; Ethernet is also available.

Can my NVR record the door camera?

Yes. The R20A-2 supports ONVIF and RTSP, so an ONVIF-capable NVR can add it as a camera channel.

What colour is the monitor?

Akuvox’s Kit 201 product images show the C313W-2 with a black front and silver trim; the R20A-2 has an aluminium front.

Upgrade the old intercom, keep the wiring.

This kit pairs the aluminium R20A-2 with the C313W-2. Need PIN entry or a larger monitor? Combine an R20K-2 or S562W-2 with an NS-2 switch instead.

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). The included 24 V DC power adapter connects to the C313W-2 monitor, which powers the R20A-2 door phone over the 2-wire cable. Treat as SELV low-voltage equipment.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.

The R20A-2 relay switches a strike or maglock; power the lock from its own supply and fit the supplied diode across DC lock coils.
