Sixteen cameras, one box.
240 W of PoE to power them.
This is the Uniview NVR502-16B-P16-IQ. A 16-channel recorder with sixteen PoE ports and a 240 W budget, so every port can run a camera at full power. Two drive bays give room for long recording or a mirrored RAID 1 pair.
In one sentence: the NVR502-16B-P16-IQ is a 16-channel Uniview NVR with 16 PoE ports (240 W in total), two SATA bays up to 24TB each with RAID 1, Gigabit networking and 4K HDMI output.
Order it without a drive, or with a 2, 4, 6 or 8TB drive fitted.
The NVR502-16B-P16-IQ comes without cameras or a screen, and without a hard drive unless you choose one above. Add the cameras and a screen. The recorder powers all sixteen cameras through its PoE ports, and runs from a mains cord.
- NVR502-16B-P16-IQ recorder
- Mains power cord
- Quick guide
- A hard drive, if you did not choose one fitted (a second drive is optional)
- Up to 16 IP cameras
- Cat6 cable to each camera
- A monitor or TV with HDMI or VGA
- Your router, for the phone app
Full power on every port.
Each PoE port supplies up to 30 W and the sixteen share 240 W, enough for a full set of typical cameras with headroom for a few heavier ones. Incoming bandwidth is 320 Mbps with smart functions off, so sixteen 4K cameras record at full quality.

Front panel
A 1U case for a shelf or rack.
Status lights and a USB 2.0 port are on the front. Sixteen PoE ports, the Gigabit LAN, HDMI, VGA, RCA audio, USB 3.0, RS485, alarm terminals (8 in, 2 out) and the mains power switch are at the back.

Size
380 × 322 × 53 mm.
It weighs 2.7 kg or less without drives and draws 12 W or less before drives and cameras. The optional Uniview RM-1U-380 bracket fits it in 1U of a 19-inch rack.
How it goes in
From the box to recording.
01
Fit the hard drive
If you did not order one fitted: with the power off, open the lid and fit a surveillance drive in each bay you are using, then format it from the setup wizard.
02
Plug in the cameras
Run Cat6 from each camera to a PoE port on the back. The port powers the camera, and Uniview cameras are found automatically.
03
Connect screen and network
HDMI or VGA to the monitor, the network port to your router, then power on and follow the wizard.
04
Add it to the app
Scan the P2P QR code in the UNV-Link app for live view, playback and alerts on your phone.

Common questions
How many cameras does the NVR502-16B-P16-IQ take?
Sixteen IP cameras, each on its own PoE port. For up to 32 cameras, the NVR504-32B-P16-IQ adds four drive bays.
What is RAID 1 and do I need it?
RAID 1 mirrors the two drives, so if one fails the footage is still on the other. It halves the usable space. Leave it off for maximum recording time, or turn it on where losing footage is not an option.
Can I use two screens?
Yes. HDMI (up to 4K) and VGA are independent outputs, so you can show different camera layouts on two monitors.
Is a hard drive included?
Not as standard. The NVR502-16B-P16-IQ is sold without a drive, or with a 2, 4, 6 or 8TB surveillance drive fitted — choose the option above. It has two SATA bays of up to 24TB each. A fitted drive fills one bay; add a second at any time for more space or for RAID 1 mirroring.
Will it work with cameras that are not Uniview?
Uniview lists standard cameras of other brands for the recorder’s own motion and face detection on a limited number of channels, so most third-party IP cameras can be added. Fast searches such as AcuSearch need Uniview cameras. Send us the camera model and we will check it.
Can I watch the cameras on my phone?
Yes. P2P is built in: connect the network port to your router and add the recorder to Uniview’s UNV-Link app by scanning its QR code. Live view, playback and alerts then work on iPhone and Android, and up to 128 remote users can connect.
What screen can I plug in?
Any monitor or TV with HDMI or VGA. HDMI runs up to 4K (3840 × 2160), and HDMI and VGA are independent, so two screens can show different views.
What is Ultra 265?
Uniview’s compression. It records the same picture as H.265 in less space, so the drive holds more days of footage. H.265 and H.264 are supported too.
What does ANR do?
If the network drops, compatible Uniview cameras keep recording to their SD card and the NVR pulls the missing footage back when the link returns.
How far can the cameras be from the recorder?
Up to 100 m of Cat6 per PoE port, which is the Ethernet limit. Beyond that, add a PoE switch or extender part way.
Can I mount it in a rack?
Yes, with the optional Uniview RM-1U-380 bracket it takes 1U in a 19-inch rack. Otherwise it sits on a shelf.
What is the warranty?
Uniview 3-year manufacturer warranty, handled in Australia through InFront. Contact us first and we will organise any claim.
Supported by Infront Technologies.

Installation and safety
Power. Runs from 100–240 V AC with a power switch at the back. Power off before fitting or removing a hard drive.
Placement. Use indoors between −10 °C and 50 °C, under 90% humidity, with space around the vents. Keep it somewhere secure so a thief cannot take the footage with it.
