Set up the recorder

Indoors, 5–40 °C. Screen on HDMI or VGA, a network lead to your router, then the recorder’s power supply. The 2TB drive is already in.

Mount the cameras

Outside or under the eaves, in IP66 metal housings. Aim each 110° view at a door, gate or driveway.

One lead per camera

Run a 20 m or 30 m Cat5e lead from each camera into a PoE+ port on the recorder. The camera powers up from that lead.

Scan the QR code

Install IVSEC X on iPhone or Android and scan the code on the recorder. No account to register. Turn on human and vehicle alerts.

What is in the IVK4L-8204B box?

Four IVNC-820B bullet cameras, the NR004XB 4-channel PoE recorder with a 2TB drive fitted, two 20 m and two 30 m Cat5e leads, and the recorder’s power supply, mouse, HDD screws and printed quick guide.

Is the hard drive already installed?

Yes. A 2TB surveillance drive is fitted. Choose 4, 6, 8 or 10TB in the hard drive option to have a bigger drive installed instead. The bay takes up to 16TB.

Do the cameras need a power point?

No. Each camera takes power and data over one network lead from the recorder’s PoE+ ports. The cameras also accept 12 V DC if you power them another way.

Is it true 4K?

It is upscaled. The 820B has a 5MP sensor and outputs a 4K (8MP) picture. The recorder records up to 12MP and shows 4K over HDMI.

Will I see colour at night?

Yes, with the white spotlight on. On infrared the cameras see up to 25 m in black and white.

Can I add more cameras later?

Not to this recorder. It has 4 channels and 4 PoE ports, and the kit uses all of them. The IVK8L-8204B has the same four cameras on an 8-channel recorder, with room for four more.

Do the cameras record sound?

Yes. Each 820B has a built-in microphone that records sound with the video. It is one-way: there is no speaker on the camera.

How do I watch on my phone?

Install IVSEC X on iPhone or Android and scan the QR code on the recorder. There is no account to register. On a Windows PC or Mac, use the IVSEC VMS software.

Can the cameras go outside?

Yes. The 820B has an IP66 metal housing for indoor or outdoor use. The recorder is indoor only, 5 °C to 40 °C.

What does the smart detection pick up?

Motion, people, vehicles and line crossing. You can set alerts on those events and search playback by them.

Who can install the cabling?

Plugging in the supplied leads is normal use. Concealed cabling through walls or ceilings is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and needs an ACMA-registered cabler.

What warranty does the kit have?

3 years in Australia, supported by Infront Technologies. The recorder datasheet is on the Attachments tab.
