Cameras power from the recorder’s PoE ports. Recording needs a SATA drive: pick a fitted HDD at checkout, or supply your own if you choose No HDD. Cabling and a monitor are not in the carton.

Two kinds of turret, one recorder.

The HDW3667EM-S-IL-ANZ is Dahua’s current 6MP Smart Dual Light turret (it replaced the HDW3666EMP-S-AUS used in earlier versions of this kit). The HDW3649H-AS-PV-ANZ-S2 is the current TiOC turret: IR plus warm light, a siren, red/blue strobe and two-way talk.

The recorder still has 4 spare PoE channels if you add cameras later.

Dual Light · 6MP

IR until a target is real. Warm light for colour.

DH-IPC-HDW3667EM-S-IL-ANZ — 6MP 3288 × 1850 from a 1/2.7″ CMOS sensor, 2.8 mm F1.4 lens with a wide 110° H / 58° V / 132° D view.

Smart Dual Light uses a multi-core IR + warm module, 30 m each. The scene stays infrared until SMD 4.0 classifies a person or vehicle, then warm light so clothing and vehicles are recorded in colour. Built-in microphone; no speaker.

TiOC · 6MP

Colour at night. A siren when it matters.

DH-IPC-HDW3649H-AS-PV-ANZ-S2 — 6MP 3072 × 2048 from a 1/2.7″ CMOS sensor behind a 2.8 mm F1.0 lens (97° H / 70° V / 128° D). Dahua rates it at 0.003 lux colour @ F1.0.

Smart Dual Illumination: IR and warm light, 30 m each. When SMD 4.0 confirms a person or vehicle, the camera can switch to warm light for colour, sound its siren and flash red and blue — or let you talk to the visitor through the built-in speaker. Arm and disarm the deterrence with one tap in DMSS.

Recorder

PoE in the recorder. 4K on the HDMI.

This kit is built around the DHI-NVR4108HS-8P-AI/ANZ — 8 IP channels, 8 PoE ports, 4K HDMI and VGA, 1× SATA (up to 20 TB), WizSense AI with Quick Pick people/vehicle search. Cameras plug straight into the back-panel PoE ports.

View on a local monitor or in DMSS on iOS and Android. H.265 keeps the camera streams light on the drive you choose at checkout. AcuPick attribute search needs a Dahua NVR5-series recorder — the cameras support it if you upgrade later.

How it works

Four steps from carton to live view.

Mount the turrets

Fix each IP67 turret under an eave or to a wall. 3-axis adjustment; “UP” mark on the housing.

One cable per camera

Run Cat 5e/6 into a PoE port on the NVR. The recorder powers the camera.

Fit a drive if needed

If you did not buy a fitted HDD, install a surveillance SATA disk in the NVR before first recording.

View on DMSS or HDMI

Add the NVR in DMSS, or connect HDMI for a local 4K monitor. SMD events classify people and vehicles.

Common questions

Before you order

Is this a complete working system?

You receive the cameras and the PoE NVR. Plug the cameras into the NVR’s PoE ports, add a SATA drive if you did not select one at checkout, and view on a monitor or the DMSS app. Cabling, a spare drive and a monitor are sold separately.

What changed from the earlier version of this kit?

Both camera models were updated. The HDW3666EMP-S-AUS turrets are now HDW3667EM-S-IL-ANZ (Smart Dual Light) and the HDW3649H-AS-PV-ANZ TiOC turrets are now the current HDW3649H-AS-PV-ANZ-S2.

How does the siren and strobe work?

When SMD 4.0 confirms a person or vehicle in the zone you draw, the TiOC camera can sound its siren, flash red and blue, switch on its warm light, and send a push alert to DMSS. You can talk to the visitor through the camera speaker, and switch the deterrence on or off for set times (or with one tap) so it doesn’t fire while you are home.

Does this kit support AcuPick search?

Not AcuPick out of the box. The cameras are AcuPick-capable, but AcuPick attribute search needs a Dahua NVR5-series recorder. This kit ships a WizSense NVR4-class recorder with Quick Pick, which still jumps straight to people and vehicle events.

What HDD should I choose?

A hard drive is required for recording — the No HDD option ships the recorder empty. Use a surveillance-rated SATA drive. As a rough guide for 4× continuous 6MP streams: 4 TB ≈ about 2.7 weeks, 8 TB ≈ about 5.3 weeks, 10 TB ≈ about 6.7 weeks (bitrate and scene activity vary — treat it as an estimate, not a guarantee). Motion-only recording stretches any drive several times further.

Can I add more cameras later?

Yes — this kit leaves 4 spare PoE ports on the NVR4108HS-8P-AI/ANZ. Extra cameras are sold separately and plug into those ports.

Is it rated for Australian weather?

The turrets are IP67 metal, −40 °C to +60 °C. The NVR is an indoor appliance — keep it in a dry, ventilated cupboard or rack.

Do the cameras need a 240 V electrician?

The cameras are PoE SELV devices powered by the NVR. The NVR plugs into a standard 10 A GPO. Concealed Cat 6 is customer cabling (AS/CA S009) and needs an ACMA-registered cabler.

Installation & safety notice

Mixed-voltage kit. The cameras are low-voltage (SELV) PoE / 12 VDC devices — no 240 V inside the turret. The NVR is a mains-powered desktop/rack appliance that plugs into a standard 10 A GPO. No electrician is required to power the NVR from an existing outlet.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed Cat-6 is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. A new GPO or rack-side mains work is the licensed electrician’s job.
