HDW3866EMP kits used IR-only 8MP turrets. This listing ships the official successor, DH-IPC-HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ: 8MP 4K, 2.8 mm F1.4, Smart Dual Light, SMD 4.0 and a built-in mic, in an IP67 metal eyeball.

The recorder still has 2 spare PoE channels if you add cameras later. Two of the cameras in this kit are TiOC turrets with red/blue strobe, siren and two-way talk for the door or driveway; the others are the quieter dual-light 3867 for general coverage.

8MP 4K from a 1/2.7″ sensor, not a guess.

Dahua’s datasheet rates 3840×2160 at 25/30 fps, 0.007 lux colour @ F1.4, and 120 dB WDR. The 2.8 mm lens is 110° horizontal — a wide eave view without a varifocal.

DORI on 2.8 mm: detect 84.8 m, observe 33.9 m, recognise 17.0 m, identify 8.5 m (EN-62676-4 table on the datasheet — not an intelligent-function distance).

Night · 02

IR until a target is real. Warm light for colour.

Smart Dual Light uses a multi-core IR + warm module: 30 m each. The scene stays infrared until SMD 4.0 classifies a person or vehicle, then warm light so clothing and vehicles are in colour.

You can also set SMD areas that coincide with the warm-light zone so nuisance motion in the dark does not dump white light across the yard.

This kit is built around the NVR4108HS-8P-AI/ANZ — 8 IP channels, 8 PoE ports, 4K HDMI, WizSense AI. Cameras land on the back-panel PoE ports; no separate midspan for the included turrets.

View on a local monitor or in DMSS. H.265 on the cameras keeps 8MP streams lighter on the disk you choose at checkout.

Four steps from carton to live view.

Mount the turrets

Fix each IP67 turret under an eave or to a wall. 3-axis adjustment; “UP” mark on the housing.

One cable per camera

Run Cat 5e/6 into a PoE port on the NVR. The recorder powers the camera (802.3af).

Fit a drive if needed

If you did not buy a fitted HDD, install a surveillance SATA disk in the NVR before first recording.

View on DMSS or HDMI

Add the NVR in DMSS, or connect HDMI for a local 4K monitor. SMD events classify people and vehicles.

Before you order

Is this a complete working system?

You receive the cameras and the PoE NVR. Plug cameras into the NVR PoE ports, add a SATA HDD if you did not select one at checkout, and view on a monitor or the DMSS app. Cabling, a spare drive and a monitor are sold separately.

What replaced the HDW3866EMP-S-AUS?

Dahua superseded that IR turret with the DH-IPC-HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ — same 8MP 2.8 mm turret class, plus Smart Dual Light (IR + warm light to 30 m), SMD 4.0, AI SSA and AcuPick-ready search on a compatible NVR.

Does the 3867 turret have a speaker?

No. It has a built-in microphone only. Two-way talk and a siren/strobe sit on the TiOC cameras in mixed kits, not on the 3867.

Do I need a special NVR for AcuPick?

SMD 4.0, tripwire and intrusion run on the camera. AcuPick target search needs a compatible Dahua AI NVR in the chain — this kit’s WizSense AI recorder is the matching recorder we ship with it. Confirm current firmware compatibility on the latest Dahua datasheet if you already own a different NVR.

What HDD should I choose?

Use a surveillance-rated SATA drive. Capacity depends on how many 8MP streams you keep and for how many days. The No HDD option ships the recorder empty so you can fit your own drive; 2 TB / 4 TB / 8 TB / 10 TB are offered as fitted upgrades on this listing.

Can I mix black and white cameras later?

Yes on the same NVR. This listing ships the colours shown in the kit contents. Extra HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ turrets are sold separately if you use a spare PoE port.

Is it rated for Australian weather?

The turret is IP67 metal, −40 °C to +60 °C, with 30 m IR and warm light. The NVR is an indoor desktop/rack appliance — keep it in a dry, ventilated cupboard or rack, not in the weather.

Do the cameras need a 240 V electrician?

The cameras are PoE SELV from the NVR. The NVR itself plugs into a standard 10 A GPO. Concealed Cat 6 is customer cabling (AS/CA S009) and needs an ACMA-registered cabler.

Installation & safety notice

Mixed-voltage kit. The HDW3867EM-S-IL-ANZ cameras are low-voltage (SELV) PoE 802.3af / 12 VDC devices — no 240 V inside the turret. The NVR is a mains-powered desktop/rack appliance that plugs into a standard 10 A GPO via its IEC lead. No electrician is required to power the NVR from an existing outlet.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed Cat-6 is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. A new GPO, rack-side mains work or a lock power supply is the licensed electrician’s job.
