Set up the recorder

Plug the NVR into a TV with an HDMI cable, into your router with a network cable, and power it up. The 4TB drive is already fitted.

Run one cable per camera

Cat5e from each camera back to a PoE+ port on the recorder. The kit includes five 20 m and five 30 m Cat5e cables; runs can go up to 100 m.

Mount and aim the cameras

Fix each camera with the supplied screws and angle it on its swivel. The cameras are found automatically when they are plugged in.

Finish in the wizard and app

Set the password in the startup wizard, scan the recorder's QR code with the free IVSEC X app, then set AI detection and the deterrent schedule.

A bigger drive

Choose a 6TB to 14TB drive option above instead of the 4TB, for longer recording before the oldest footage is overwritten.

Can I add more cameras later?

Yes. The recorder has sixteen PoE+ ports and this kit uses ten, so you can add six more IVSEC cameras such as the 850B or 850D. ONVIF cameras from other brands also connect, though some features may not work on every model.

How long will the 4TB drive record?

It depends on how many cameras record, the bit rate and whether you record all the time or only on events. When the drive is full the oldest footage is overwritten. Choose a 6TB to 14TB drive option for longer recording; the recorder also has a second bay, and takes up to 16TB in each.

Do the cameras need a power point each?

No. Each camera is powered by the recorder through its network cable (PoE), so one Cat5e run per camera is all it needs.

Can I see colour at night?

Yes. With the white light on, the 850D records in colour up to 30 m. You can instead use infrared, which records in black and white up to 35 m without a visible light.

What does the deterrence do?

When a camera detects a person or vehicle it can switch on the white light, flash red and blue, sound a siren, or any mix of these, on a schedule you choose, for example only between 9 pm and 5 am.

Can I talk through the cameras?

Yes. Each camera has a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way audio from the IVSEC X app, so you can warn someone off or speak to a delivery driver.

Do I have to register an account to use the app?

No. The free IVSEC X app connects by scanning the recorder's QR code and does not need you to register an email address, and you can add as many users as you need.

Which AI detections does it have?

Human and vehicle detection, face detection, perimeter intrusion, line crossing, stationary object, crossing count, heat map, crowd density, queue length and rare sound. Each camera runs one AI mode at a time, alongside standard motion detection.

Can the cameras record without the recorder?

Yes. Each camera takes a microSD card up to 256 GB, so it can record on its own or keep a backup copy if the recorder is stolen.

Are the cameras weatherproof?

Yes. The 850D has a metal alloy housing rated IP66, so it can go outdoors under eaves or on ceilings. The recorder is for indoor use.

What warranty does the kit have?
