The AK-R20K-2 is Akuvox’s R20K-2: the compact R20K keypad door phone re-engineered for 2-wire. It draws power and data from the same pair an analogue door station used, so apartment and office retrofits keep their existing cable runs.

This SKU is the door phone only.

You receive the R20K-2 with its wiring cover, cables and wall-mounting bracket and fixings. Indoor monitors, an NS-2 switch, power supply and lock hardware are sold separately.

Holds 5,000 users, 25,000 cards and 5,000 PINs, with one relay, one input, Wiegand and RS485 for access control integration.

Power and data on one pair.

A single two-pin connection replaces separate power and network cable. Connect it direct to a 2-wire monitor or to one of the six ports on an NS-2.

With an NS-2 on 48 V, Akuvox rates star runs of up to 300 m on 18–24 AWG cable.

Akuvox 2-wire system

Connects straight to an Akuvox 2-wire indoor monitor such as the C313W-2 or S562W-2, or to an NS-2 switch for multi-device sites.

SIP PBX and softphones

The R20K-2 is a SIP device, so once the 2-wire network is bridged to your LAN it can call IP phones and PBX extensions.

NVRs over ONVIF

Third-party NVRs can record the door camera over ONVIF alongside your CCTV cameras.

Wiegand and RS485 access control

The selectable Wiegand port and RS485 connect third-party access controllers and readers.

Common questions

How is the R20K-2 different from the R20K?

Same keypad, camera and reader, but the R20K-2 takes power and network over a 2-wire pair instead of Ethernet / PoE. It has one relay and one input (the R20K has two of each) and streams at 25 fps rather than 30.

What can it connect to?

Akuvox 2-wire indoor monitors (C313W-2, S562W-2) directly, or an Akuvox NS-2 switch for several devices on one system.

How far can the 2-wire run be?

With an NS-2 on 48 V, Akuvox rates star runs of up to 300 m on 18–24 AWG cable.

Can it open a door?

Yes. One relay drives a strike or maglock, triggered by PIN, card, NFC, the monitor or the SmartPlus app. Power the lock from its own supply and fit the supplied diode across DC lock coils.

How many cards and PINs does it hold?

Up to 25,000 cards, 5,000 PINs and 5,000 users, with EM, MIFARE and DESFire EV1 / EV2 / EV3 cards supported.

Does it fit the R20K mounting accessories?

The panel is the same 185 × 84.5 × 24 mm size as the R20K, and Akuvox offers in-wall and on-wall rain covers for the R20K-2.

Is it weatherproof?

Yes. IP65 with an operating range of −30 °C to +60 °C.

A keypad 2-wire door phone.

Choose the R20K-2 when you want PIN entry at the door; the R20A-2 is the single-button version without a keypad, and the E12S-2 is a slimmer doorbell for houses.

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). Powered over the 2-wire pair: the two-pin connection carries both power and network, from an Akuvox NS-2 switch or a 2-wire indoor monitor fed by its power adapter.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.

The R20K-2 has one relay for a strike or maglock; power the lock from its own supply and fit the supplied diode across DC lock coils.
