Watching for falls.
Without a camera.

The AK-MR01 is Akuvox’s AI fall-detection radar. It uses millimetre-wave sensing instead of video, so bedrooms and bathrooms stay private while staff or family still get an alert.

Privacy-first monitoring.

Suited to aged care rooms, assisted living and people living alone. Radar reads movement and posture, not faces.

Detect

Falls and bed exits.

The 60–61 GHz FMCW radar with 4 transmit and 4 receive antennas tracks multiple people and recognises falls and someone leaving a bed.

Alerts reach carers through Akuvox SmartPlus, with a local alarm buzzer and a relay output for local alarm equipment.

Mount

Ceiling or wall.

From the ceiling it covers about 6 × 4 m. On a wall it looks up to 5 m ahead across a 140° fan.

Side and top brackets are supplied. Run PoE for one-cable installs, or use USB-C power with Wi-Fi.

Answers

Common questions

Does it use a camera?

No. It is a 60 GHz millimetre-wave radar, so no images are captured — suitable for bedrooms and bathrooms.

How are alerts sent?

Through Akuvox Cloud to the carer’s SmartPlus app, plus the built-in buzzer and a relay output for local alarm equipment.

How much area does it cover?

About 6 × 4 m when ceiling-mounted, or up to 5 m ahead across a 140° fan when wall-mounted.

Can it watch more than one person or bed?

Yes. It still detects falls with several people in range, and reports bed exits separately for each bed it can see.

How is it powered and connected?

One PoE cable (IEEE 802.3) for power and network, or a 5 V 2 A USB-C adapter with Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n. A built-in Wi-Fi access point is used for first setup.

How high should it be mounted?

On a ceiling, no more than 3000 mm to the top of the bracket. On a wall, the centre of the radar no higher than 2000 mm, on the supplied 20° bracket. Keep moving, metal or light objects at least 70 cm away.

Is it a medical device?

No. Akuvox states the MR01 is a supplementary monitoring device and should support, not replace, care staff and emergency procedures.

Safer rooms.

The MR01 watches a room without a camera, raising fall and bed-exit alerts for aged care and assisted living.
