4K colour nights, in black.
For dark eaves and cladding.

This is the Uniview IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP-BK. A black 8MP 4K turret built for colour night video. A 1/1.8" sensor behind an F1.0 lens keeps colour down to 0.0003 lux, and a 30 m warm light fills in when it is truly dark.

In one sentence: the IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP-BK is a black 8MP (3840 × 2160) ColorHunter turret with a 1/1.8" sensor, 2.8 mm F1.0 lens, 111° view, 30 m warm light, people and vehicle detection, a built-in mic and IP67, powered by PoE.

One camera, one Cat6 cable.

Video and power share a single Cat6 run from a PoE recorder or switch. Mounts and a memory card are optional.

In the box
  • IPC3628LE-ADF28K-WP-BK camera
  • Fixing screws and drill template
  • Quick guide
You also need
  • A PoE NVR or switch (802.3af), or a 12 V DC supply
  • Cat6 cable to the camera
  • A microSD card up to 512GB, to record on the camera
  • TR-JB03-I-IN-BK junction box or TR-WM03-D-IN-BK wall mount, if needed

Low-key, and in colour.

The black housing blends into dark eaves and cladding. Inside it is the same camera as the white model: 4K colour night video from a 1/1.8" sensor and F1.0 lens. Uniview only publishes photos of the white version; this listing is the black model.

Design

F1.0 lens over a warm light.

The F1.0 lens sits above the 30 m warm light. Photo shows the white version of this camera; this listing is the black model.

Aiming

Aimed after it is fixed.

The eyeball turns in its base (tilt 0–90°), so you fix the base first and then frame the view. Photo shows the white version; this listing is black.

Size

Ø118 × 106 mm, 0.48 kg.

The Uniview drawing shows the camera from the front and side, and the base with its fixing holes. Mark the holes with the drill template in the box.

How it goes in

From the box to recording.

01

Pick the spot

High enough to be out of easy reach, close enough to see faces, with a route for one Cat6 cable. Under an eave keeps sun and rain off the lens.

02

Fix the base

Screw the base to the ceiling, eave or wall, or onto a TR-JB03-I-IN-BK junction box so the cable joint is enclosed.

03

Plug it in

Run Cat6 to a PoE port on the NVR or a PoE switch. The camera powers up from the cable.

04

Aim and add

Turn the eyeball to frame the view, then add it to the NVR or the Uniview app, then draw the lines and zones for alerts.

Pair it with

What goes with it

Recorder

Uniview PoE NVR

Powers the camera over one Cat6 cable, adds it automatically and records the smart events.

Mounting

TR-JB03-I-IN-BK junction box

Encloses the cable joint behind the camera in black on brick, render or a soffit with no cavity.

Walls

TR-WM03-D-IN-BK wall mount

Holds the camera out from the wall in black so it can look along the building.

Cabling

Cat6 cable

Solid copper Cat6 for PoE runs of up to 100 m from the switch or NVR.

Model codes shortened from IPC…-ADF28K-WP(-I1). All five have a 2.8 mm F1.0 lens, colour down to 0.0003 lux with ColorHunter and Wise-ISP, a 30 m warm light, IP67 and PoE (802.3af) or 12 V DC. — means not listed or not rated. Figures from the Uniview datasheets.

Common questions

What resolution and frame rate does it record?

8MP 4K (3840 × 2160) at up to 20 fps.

Will trees and headlights set it off?

Less often than plain motion detection. Smart intrusion prevention watches for people and vehicles crossing a line or entering a zone, and ultra motion detection filters out most movement from leaves and changing light.

Will the warm light bother the neighbours?

You choose. The light can switch on automatically or be set manually, and with street or porch lighting nearby the camera often stays in colour without it. Aim it at your own property.

Does it record sound?

Yes. It has a built-in microphone. Check the privacy rules in your state before recording conversations.

Does it really record in colour at night?

Yes. ColorHunter with Wise-ISP gathers enough light for a colour picture down to 0.0003 lux, so with a street light or porch light nearby it stays in colour. In full darkness the built-in warm light (up to 30 m) fills in; it can switch on automatically or be set manually.

How wide does it see?

The 2.8 mm lens covers 111.0° across, 63.0° high. Uniview rates it to identify a person at 6.3 m and recognise someone known at 12.6 m, with detection out to 63 m.

Which mount do I need?

It screws straight to a ceiling or eave. Add the TR-JB03-I-IN-BK junction box where there is no cavity behind to hide the cable joint, or use the TR-WM03-D-IN-BK wall mount to hold it out from a wall. The TR-JB07/WM03-G-IN-V2-BK combines a wall mount with a junction box.

Can it go outside?

Yes. It is rated IP67 against dust and water, and works from −30 °C to 60 °C. Mount it under an eave where you can, to keep rain and direct sun off the lens.

Will it work with my recorder?

Uniview NVRs find it on their PoE ports and add it automatically, with the smart events. Other recorders that support ONVIF (Profile S, G or T) can add it too, although the smart events may only come through on a Uniview NVR.

Can I watch it on my phone?

Yes. Watch it through a Uniview NVR in the Uniview mobile app, or add the camera to the app on its own. Live view in a web browser works without a plug-in in current Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

How is it powered?

By PoE (IEEE 802.3af) over the same Cat6 cable as the video, from a PoE NVR or switch. Without PoE it runs on a 12 V DC supply. It draws 3.9 W at most.

What is the warranty?

Uniview 3-year manufacturer warranty, handled in Australia through InFront. Contact us first and we will organise any claim.

Supported by Infront Technologies.

Installation and safety

Power. Use an 802.3af PoE port or a regulated 12 V DC supply. The camera draws 3.9 W at most.

Weather. Rated IP67. Seal the cable joint, ideally inside a junction box, and point cable entries downwards.
