This is the Uniview NVR501-04B-P4-IQ. A compact 4-channel recorder with four PoE ports, so each camera needs one Cat6 cable and no power pack. It records up to 16MP, shows 4K on HDMI and takes one hard drive.
In one sentence: the NVR501-04B-P4-IQ is a 4-channel Uniview NVR with 4 PoE ports (50 W in total), one SATA bay up to 24TB, 80 Mbps incoming bandwidth and 4K HDMI output.

Common questions
How many cameras does the NVR501-04B-P4-IQ take?
Four IP cameras, each on its own PoE port. For more, the NVR501-08B-P8-IQ takes eight in the same size case.
Can the PoE ports power every camera at once?
Yes for typical cameras. Each port gives up to 30 W and the four share 50 W. Check the total before adding PTZ or heated cameras.
What smart features does it have?
With Uniview cameras that have SIP or UMD, AcuSearch finds people and vehicles across all channels in seconds. The recorder can also run face detection, intrusion and motion detection itself on a limited number of standard cameras.
Is a hard drive included?
Not as standard. The NVR501-04B-P4-IQ is sold without a drive, or with a 2, 4, 6 or 8TB surveillance drive fitted — choose the option above. Its single SATA bay takes a drive of up to 24TB (Uniview notes the maximum depends on the room staying under 40 °C).
Will it work with cameras that are not Uniview?
Uniview lists standard cameras of other brands for the recorder’s own motion and face detection on a limited number of channels, so most third-party IP cameras can be added. Fast searches such as AcuSearch need Uniview cameras. Send us the camera model and we will check it.
Can I watch the cameras on my phone?
Yes. P2P is built in: connect the network port to your router and add the recorder to Uniview’s UNV-Link app by scanning its QR code. Live view, playback and alerts then work on iPhone and Android, and up to 128 remote users can connect.
What screen can I plug in?
Any monitor or TV with HDMI or VGA. HDMI runs up to 4K (3840 × 2160) at 30 Hz and VGA up to 1920 × 1080; both show the same picture.
What is Ultra 265?
Uniview’s compression. It records the same picture as H.265 in less space, so the drive holds more days of footage. H.265 and H.264 are supported too.
What does ANR do?
If the network drops, compatible Uniview cameras keep recording to their SD card and the NVR pulls the missing footage back when the link returns.
How far can the cameras be from the recorder?
Up to 100 m of Cat6 per PoE port, which is the Ethernet limit. Beyond that, add a PoE switch or extender part way.
Can I mount it in a rack?
It is a desktop unit. The optional Uniview RM-1U-260 bracket fits it in a 1U space in a 19-inch rack — ask us if you need one.
What is the warranty?
Uniview 3-year manufacturer warranty, handled in Australia through InFront. Contact us first and we will organise any claim.
Supported by Infront Technologies.

Installation and safety
Power. Use only the supplied 48 V DC power adapter. Power off before fitting or removing the hard drive.
Placement. Use indoors between −10 °C and 50 °C, under 90% humidity, with space around the vents. Keep it somewhere secure so a thief cannot take the footage with it.
