Set up the recorder

Plug the NVR into a TV with the HDMI cable, into your router with the 1.8 m network cable supplied (or over Wi-Fi with the optional IVSEC NVR wireless antenna), and power it up. The 2TB drive is already fitted.

Run one cable per camera

Cat5e from each camera back to a PoE+ port on the recorder. The kit includes four 20 m and four 30 m Cat5e cables; runs can go up to 100 m.

Mount and aim the cameras

Fix each camera with the supplied screws and angle it on its bracket. The cameras are found automatically when they are plugged in.

Finish in the wizard and app

Set the password in the startup wizard, scan the recorder's QR code with the free IVSEC X app, then set AI detection and the deterrent schedule.

A bigger drive

Choose a 4TB to 14TB drive option above instead of the 2TB, for longer recording before the oldest footage is overwritten.

Can I add more cameras later?

This kit uses all eight PoE+ ports, and the NVR 8000 records eight cameras. If you need more, choose a 16-channel IVK16L kit with the NVR 9000.

How long will the 2TB drive record?

It depends on how many cameras record, the bit rate and whether you record all the time or only on events. When the drive is full the oldest footage is overwritten. For longer recording, choose a 4TB to 14TB drive option; the recorder takes up to 16TB.

Do the cameras need a power point each?

No. Each camera is powered by the recorder through its network cable (PoE), so one Cat5e run per camera is all it needs.

Can I see colour at night?

Yes. With the white light on, the 850B records in colour up to 30 m. You can instead use infrared, which records in black and white up to 35 m without a visible light.

What does the deterrence do?

When a camera detects a person or vehicle it can switch on the white light, flash red and blue, sound a siren, or any mix of these, on a schedule you choose, for example only between 9 pm and 5 am.

Can I talk through the cameras?

Yes. Each camera has a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way audio from the IVSEC X app, so you can warn someone off or speak to a delivery driver.

Do I have to register an account to use the app?

No. The free IVSEC X app connects by scanning the recorder's QR code and does not need you to register an email address, and you can add as many users as you need.

Which AI detections does it have?

Human and vehicle detection, face detection, perimeter intrusion, line crossing, stationary object, crossing count, heat map, crowd density, queue length and rare sound. Each camera runs one AI mode at a time, alongside standard motion detection.

Can the recorder connect to my router over Wi-Fi?

Yes. The kit includes a 1.8 m cable for a wired connection, and if the router is too far away you can add the IVSEC NVR wireless antenna (IVSEC-ACC-NVRANT), which connects the recorder to your Wi-Fi. The cameras still run on their own network cables back to the recorder.

Are the cameras weatherproof?

Yes. The 850B has a metal alloy housing rated IP66, so it can go outdoors under eaves or on walls. The recorder is for indoor use.
