Pick the spot

High enough to be out of easy reach, close enough to see faces, with a route for one Cat6 cable. Under an eave keeps sun and rain off the lens.

Fix the dome

Screw it to the ceiling or wall, or onto a TR-JB03-G-IN junction box so the cable joint is enclosed.

Plug it in

Run Cat6 to a PoE port on the NVR or a PoE switch. The camera powers up from the cable.

Aim and add

Open the cover, aim the lens on its three-axis gimbal and refit the cover, then add it to the NVR or the Uniview EZView app.

What does IK10 mean?

IK10 is the top of the impact scale used for equipment housings (20 joules). The metal dome is built to survive being hit, kicked or struck with a tool.

What resolution and frame rate does it record?

8MP (3840 × 2160) at up to 20 fps. For smoother motion, set 5MP, 4MP or 1080p at 30 fps.

How far does it see at night?

Up to 30 m with infrared, in black and white. Smart IR turns the IR down on close objects so faces are not washed out.

Does it tell people from other movement?

Not on its own. This model has motion detection (including Uniview’s Ultra Motion Detection), tampering and audio detection, but not smart intrusion prevention with person and vehicle sorting. For that, choose the 4MP IPC314SB-ADF28K-I0 or the 8MP IPC328SS-ADF28K-I1.

Does it record sound?

Yes, through the built-in microphone. It also has an audio output, so an external speaker can be connected for two-way talk from the app or NVR.

Can I mount it on a wall?

Yes, it mounts on a ceiling or a wall. Add the TR-JB03-G-IN junction box where there is no cavity behind to hide the cable joint. Indoors it can hang from the ceiling on the TR-CM24-IN pendant mount, with the TR-SE24-A-IN 500 mm pole for high ceilings.

Will it work with my recorder?

Uniview NVRs find it on their PoE ports and add it automatically. Other recorders that support ONVIF Profile S, G, T, M can add it too, although the smart events may only come through on a Uniview recorder.

Can I watch it on my phone?

Yes. Watch it through your Uniview NVR in the Uniview EZView app, or add the camera to the app on its own. The camera also has its own web page for live view and settings.

Can it record without an NVR?

Yes. Fit a microSD card of up to 512GB and it records on the camera itself. With a Uniview NVR, the card also covers network drop-outs: ANR sends the missed footage to the recorder when the link returns.

How is it powered?

By PoE (IEEE 802.3af) over the same Cat6 cable as the video, from a PoE NVR or switch. Without PoE, it runs on a 12 V DC supply. It draws 6.0 W at most.

What is Ultra 265?

Uniview’s own video compression. It keeps the same picture as H.265 in less space, so the recorder holds more days of footage. H.265, H.264 and MJPEG are there too.

What is the warranty?

Uniview 3-year manufacturer warranty, handled in Australia through InFront. Contact us first and we will organise any claim.
