4.3″ screen, keypad, three relays.
The AK-R28A is Akuvox’s R28 door station in silver aluminium. A 4.3″ colour screen shows visitors how to call and what is happening, while the keypad, card reader and three relays handle residents, staff and multiple doors.
This SKU is the door station only.
You receive the R28A door phone. Indoor monitors, on-wall or in-wall installation kit, rain cover, PoE switch and lock hardware are sold separately.

Visitors follow the on-screen prompts to dial a flat; residents see them in 2 MP before releasing the door. Residents and staff skip the call with a card, PIN, Android phone or the SmartPlus app.

4.3″ colour TFT LCD at 480 × 272 shows calling instructions, call status and unlock feedback, so first-time visitors are not left guessing.
The numeric keypad with extra buttons handles flat numbers and PINs; the 5 key carries a raised dot for blind and low-vision users.
Camera and access
WDR picture, 25,000 cards.
2 MP 1/2.8″ CMOS with wide dynamic range, 110° (H) / 58° (V), 1080p at 30 fps, IR LEDs and a light sensor for night calls.
The 13.56 MHz and 125 kHz reader takes EM, MIFARE, DESFire EV1 / EV2 / EV3 and FeliCa cards plus Android NFC: up to 25,000 cards, 5,000 PINs and 5,000 users.

IP65, IK06, −40 °C to +55 °C.
Silver aluminium front, IP65 against rain and dust, IK06 impact rated, with a tamper alarm. 280 × 130 × 31.4 mm.
Three relays and three inputs run multiple doors and gates; Wiegand, RS485 and a 12 V / 400 mA output connect readers and accessories.

Mount
Fit the R27/R28 on-wall kit for surface mounting or the in-wall kit for flush; add the rain cover where exposed.

PoE and SIP
Run 802.3af PoE to the RJ45 and register the station to Akuvox indoor monitors, SmartPlus or your SIP PBX.

Load residents
Import flats, cards and PINs in the web portal: up to 25,000 cards and 5,000 PINs.
04
Test the doors
Call a flat, check the picture day and night, and confirm each of the three relays releases the right lock.

Common questions
Is a mounting kit included?
No. Order the R27 / R28 on-wall kit for surface mounting or the R27 / R28 in-wall kit for flush mounting.
How is the R28A different from the R20K?
The R28A adds a 4.3″ colour screen, a WDR camera, a third relay and input, and higher card capacity, in a larger 280 × 130 mm panel.
What power does it need?
IEEE 802.3af PoE from a switch or injector. A 12 V / 400 mA output can run a small reader or lock accessory.
How many residents and cards does it hold?
Up to 5,000 users, 25,000 cards and 5,000 PINs, with access tables exported and imported through the web portal.
Will it work in cold or exposed sites?
It is rated −40 °C to +55 °C and IP65. Add the R27 / R28 rain cover on elevations that face the weather.
Will it record to my NVR?
Yes. The R28A supports ONVIF and RTSP, so ONVIF-capable NVRs can add it as a camera channel.
What mounting height does Akuvox show?
The R28 drawings place the camera centre at 1,500 mm and the bottom of the panel at 1,259 mm above ground.
Does this model support a hearing-aid induction loop?
No. Akuvox makes a separate R28A induction loop version; this SKU is the standard model.

Choose the R28A over the compact R20K when visitors need on-screen guidance, or when you need a third relay and higher card capacity.
Installation & safety notice
Low-voltage product (SELV). Power from IEEE 802.3af PoE. Treat as SELV low-voltage equipment.
When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.
