Akuvox WR01-L is the 4G LTE version of the WR01 web relay controller. Put a SIM card in it and it reaches the network without a cable, so gates and doors at remote sites can open from the SmartPlus app, a Bluetooth Bkey, an HTTP command or simply a phone call from an authorised number.

  • ✓Built-in 4G LTE module with SIM slot, external 4G antenna and 3 signal-strength LEDs
  • ✓Dial-to-open: up to 5 authorised phone numbers per user trigger the relay by calling
  • ✓2 relays, 2 inputs, HTTP API and Bluetooth 5.0 · 20,000 users, 100,000 logs
  • ✓PoE 802.3af or 12–24 V AC/DC in · 12 V DC 0.5 A out · wall or DIN-rail mount

4G LTE, no network cable.

The AK-WR01-LTE is Akuvox’s WR01-L: the WR01 web relay controller with an integrated 4G LTE module. It keeps the WR01’s Ethernet, PoE, two relays and two inputs, and adds a SIM slot and 4G antenna so it can work where there is no LAN — farm and estate gates, car parks, factories and retrofit sites.

This SKU is the WR01-L controller (4G LTE, Ethernet and Bluetooth).

You receive the WR01-L with its 4G antenna, wall fixings, DIN-rail clip and plug-in terminal blocks. The SIM card and data plan, locks, exit buttons and power supply are sold separately. If the site has a network cable, the plain WR01 does the same job without LTE.

In the box
  • Akuvox WR01-L web relay controller with 4G antenna
  • DIN-rail mounting clip and 2 M3 × 4 screws
  • 4 plastic wall anchors and 4 ST3 × 20 screws
  • 8-pin and 7-pin plug-in terminal blocks
What you also need(sold separately)
  • Activated SIM card from your mobile provider
  • PoE 802.3af, or a 12 V DC 1 A / 24 V DC 0.5 A supply
  • Gate controller, lock or maglock (up to 30 V DC on the relay contacts)
  • SmartPlus app or Akuvox Bkey for Bluetooth unlock

The WR01, plus a mobile connection.

Where running a network cable is impractical, the WR01-L connects over 4G. Residents and staff open the gate with the SmartPlus app, a Bkey or by calling the relay’s number; integrators can still trigger it over HTTP.

Cellular

SIM in, signal on the front panel.

An integrated 4G LTE module and plug-in SIM slot connect the WR01-L without relying on the site LAN. The 4G antenna screws onto the end panel next to the SIM slot.

Three 4G LEDs on the front show signal strength — two bars for weak, three for fair, all lit for excellent — so you can pick the best mounting spot during install.

Call to open

A phone call is the key.

Add up to five authorised phone numbers to each user. When one of them calls the WR01-L, it releases the relays that user is allowed to open — no app or fob needed.

Calling works on stand-alone sites set up in the web interface and on SmartPlus Cloud projects with the landline service enabled. Caller-ID entry is only available on the WR01-L.

Administrator managing an Akuvox WR01-L from a web browser

Manage

Browser-managed, 20,000 users.

The built-in web server lets you add users, schedules and relay settings from any browser without installing software. Up to 20,000 users and 100,000 access logs stay on the device.

Bluetooth unlock from SmartPlus or a Bkey and a standard HTTP API with allowlist, Basic or Digest authentication work exactly as on the WR01.

How it works

From SIM card to first call-to-open.

01

Mount

Fix the WR01-L to a wall or DIN rail where the 4G signal LEDs show a fair or excellent signal, and screw on the 4G antenna.

02

SIM and power

Insert an activated SIM card, connect PoE or a 12–24 V AC/DC supply, and wire the gate or lock to a relay.

03

Configure

Enable the LTE connection, add users with their authorised phone numbers, and set relay modes and schedules in the web interface.

04

Test

Call from an authorised number, then try the SmartPlus app and an HTTP command, and confirm each relay releases.

Pair it with

Completes your remote access point

Bluetooth

Akuvox Bkey

A Bluetooth key fob that opens the relay from up to 12 m (Akuvox tested range on the WR01 series).

Exit

Akuvox exit buttons

Wire a press-to-exit or touch-free button to an input for request-to-exit.

Wired

Akuvox WR01

The same controller without LTE, for sites with an Ethernet cable.

Works with

Platforms and integrations

Mobile network

Authorised callers open the gate by phone, and the WR01-L reaches the internet over 4G where no LAN exists.

HTTP API

Third-party access control, building management or automation systems switch the relays with authenticated HTTP requests.

Akuvox SmartPlus

Bluetooth app unlock, cloud management and landline call-to-open for SmartPlus Cloud projects.

Answers

Common questions

What is the difference between WR01-L and WR01?

The WR01-L adds a 4G LTE module with a SIM slot, an external 4G antenna and three signal LEDs, plus Caller-ID dial-to-open. Relays, inputs, power, Bluetooth, HTTP API and the 20,000-user capacity are the same. It is 164 mm long instead of 154.45 mm.

Is a SIM card included?

No. Use an activated SIM card and data plan from your mobile provider.

How does dial-to-open work?

Each user can have up to five authorised phone numbers. When one of those numbers calls the WR01-L, it releases the relay set for that user. If the caller is in the same country as the SIM card, leave the country code blank.

Can it still use Ethernet and PoE?

Yes. It has the same RJ45 port with 802.3af PoE as the WR01, so it can run on a cable and use LTE where no cable exists.

How do I check the 4G signal?

The front 4G LEDs show strength: two bars for weak (below −90 dBm), two and three bars for fair (−70 to −90 dBm), and all three for excellent (−50 to −70 dBm).

How is it powered?

802.3af PoE, or a 12 V DC 1 A, 24 V DC 0.5 A, 12 V AC 1 A or 24 V AC 0.5 A supply. It can also output 12 V DC at up to 0.5 A to a lock or sensor.

Access control without the trench.

Choose the WR01-L for gates and doors at remote or retrofit sites. Where a network cable is available, the WR01 does the same job without LTE.

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). Power from IEEE 802.3af PoE, or a 12 V DC 1 A, 24 V DC 0.5 A, 12 V AC 1 A or 24 V AC 0.5 A supply. The 12 V DC output supplies up to 0.5 A. Treat as SELV low-voltage equipment.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.
