Answers
Common questions
Do people need to touch it?
No. A hand wave in front of the infrared sensor triggers the release.
Does it need power?
Yes. The sensor runs from 12–24 V DC on the red and black wires; the output contacts are separate.
How does it connect to an Akuvox door phone?
Wire white (COM) and yellow (NO) to the door phone’s exit-button input; use green (NC) instead for fail-safe circuits that need a normally closed contact.
Can it go outdoors?
It is rated IP55 for indoor and semi-outdoor positions. Shelter it from direct rain and sun.
What size wall box does it fit?
An 86 × 86 mm electrical box, the size used by most EU-style wall boxes.
What comes in the box?
The sensor plate plus two ST3.5 × 30 self-tapping screws and two plastic wall anchors.
How is it different from the EB11?
EB11 is a mechanical push button on a tall 115 × 70 mm plate rated IK10. EB13 is touch-free, IP55 and fits an 86 × 86 mm box.
Exit buttons.
The EB13 wires to the exit input of any Akuvox door phone or A08, so staff and residents can release the door from inside.
