Common questions
How do I connect more than sixteen cameras?
Sixteen plug into the built-in PoE ports. Connect the rest through a PoE switch on the same network as the recorder’s LAN port, up to 32 cameras in total.
What does RAID 5 give me?
With three or four drives, RAID 5 spreads the footage with parity, so recording carries on if one drive fails and you lose only one drive’s worth of space. RAID 1 mirrors pairs of drives.
What is the highest camera resolution?
Up to 12MP recording. It decodes one 12MP, two 4K or five 4MP streams at 30 fps for live view and playback.
Is a hard drive included?
No. The NVR-432XU-P16 ships empty so you can choose the storage. Four SATA bays take drives of up to 10TB each, with RAID 1 or RAID 5. We suggest surveillance-rated drives such as Seagate SkyHawk.
Will it work with cameras that are not Uniarch?
Yes, with ONVIF (Profile S, G or T) or RTSP cameras. Smart events such as line crossing and intrusion come from Uniarch and Uniview cameras; third-party cameras normally give video and basic motion only.
Can I watch the cameras on my phone?
Yes. Connect the recorder’s network port to your router and add it to the Uniarch app with the P2P QR code. Live view, playback and alerts then work on iPhone and Android.
What screen can I plug in?
Any monitor or TV with HDMI or VGA. HDMI runs up to 4K (3840 × 2160) at 30 Hz and VGA up to 1920 × 1080. The Uniarch MT-22-V and MT-24-V monitors suit it and have speakers built in.
What is Ultra 265?
Uniarch’s compression. It records the same picture as H.265 in less space, so the drive holds more days of footage. H.265 and H.264 are supported too.
What does ANR do?
If the network drops, compatible cameras keep recording to their SD card and the NVR pulls the missing footage back when the link returns.
How far can the cameras be from the recorder?
Up to 100 m of Cat6 per PoE port, which is the Ethernet limit. Beyond that, add a PoE switch or extender part way.
Can I mount it in a rack?
It suits a rack shelf or a secure cabinet. Ask us about mounting options for your rack.
What is the warranty?
Uniarch 3-year manufacturer warranty, handled in Australia through us. Contact us first and we will organise any claim.
Supported by Infront Technologies.

Installation and safety
Power. 100–240 VAC mains with a built-in power supply. Switch off and unplug before fitting or removing drives.
Placement. Use indoors between −10 °C and 55 °C, under 90% humidity, with space around the vents. Keep it somewhere secure so a thief cannot take the footage with it.
