Sixty-four cameras.
Eight drives. Two control rooms.
This is the Uniview NVR508-64E-IQ. A 2U recorder for large sites: 64 channels at up to 32MP, 512 Mbps of incoming video, eight drive bays with RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10, and two independent pairs of HDMI and VGA outputs.
In one sentence: the NVR508-64E-IQ is a 64-channel Uniview NVR with up to 32MP recording, 512 Mbps incoming bandwidth, eight SATA bays up to 24TB each with RAID 0/1/5/6/10 and N+1 hot spare, two Gigabit ports and two 4K HDMI outputs.
Order it without a drive, or with a 2, 4, 6 or 8TB drive fitted.
The NVR508-64E-IQ comes without cameras or a screen, and without a hard drive unless you choose one above. Add PoE switches for the cameras and your screens. The recorder has no PoE ports and runs from mains power.
- NVR508-64E-IQ recorder
- Mains power cord
- Quick guide
- A hard drive, if you did not choose one fitted (up to 7 more are optional)
- Up to 64 IP cameras
- PoE switches for the cameras
- Monitors with HDMI or VGA
- A 19-inch rack or shelf
Built for footage you cannot lose.
RAID 6 keeps recording through two drive failures, and N+1 hot spare lets a standby recorder take over if this one stops. With 512 Mbps of incoming bandwidth, all 64 channels can record 4K at full quality.

Front panel
A 2U rack case.
Two USB 2.0 ports are on the front. At the back: two Gigabit LAN, two HDMI and two VGA, two USB 3.0, eSATA, RS485, RS232, alarm terminals (16 in, 10 out), a 12 V output and RCA audio (1 in, 2 out).

Size
442 × 432 × 86 mm.
It weighs 5.5 kg or less without drives and draws 35 W or less before drives. It fits 2U of a 19-inch rack with Uniview FL-2U rack ears.
How it goes in
From the box to recording.
01
Fit the hard drives
If you did not order one fitted: with the power off, fit surveillance drives in the bays you are using, then format them or build the RAID array from the setup wizard.
02
Connect the cameras
Plug the cameras into PoE switches on the same network as the recorder. It searches the network and adds Uniview cameras automatically.
03
Connect screens and network
HDMI or VGA to the monitors, a network port to your switch or router, then power on and follow the wizard.
04
Add it to the app
Scan the P2P QR code in the UNV-Link app, or add the recorder to Uniview’s EZStation software on a PC.

Common questions
Which RAID levels does it support?
RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and 10 across its eight bays. RAID 6 survives two drive failures; RAID 5 survives one while keeping more space.
What is N+1 hot spare?
One spare recorder watches several working ones. If a working recorder fails, the spare takes over recording, and the footage syncs back when it is repaired.
Can it drive two different screens?
Yes. HDMI1 and VGA1 show one layout, HDMI2 and VGA2 another, so two monitors can show different views. Both HDMI outputs run up to 4K at 60 Hz.
Is a hard drive included?
Not as standard. The NVR508-64E-IQ is sold without a drive, or with a 2, 4, 6 or 8TB surveillance drive fitted — choose the option above. It has eight SATA bays of up to 24TB each. A fitted drive fills one bay; add more at any time for space or RAID.
Will it work with cameras that are not Uniview?
Uniview lists standard cameras of other brands for the recorder’s own motion, intrusion and face detection on a limited number of channels, so most third-party IP cameras can be added. Fast searches such as AcuSearch need Uniview cameras. Send us the camera model and we will check it.
Can I watch the cameras on my phone?
Yes. P2P is built in: connect the network port to your router and add the recorder to Uniview’s UNV-Link app by scanning its QR code. Live view, playback and alerts then work on iPhone and Android, and up to 128 remote users can connect.
What screen can I plug in?
Monitors with HDMI or VGA. There are two HDMI outputs up to 4K at 60 Hz and two VGA outputs; HDMI1/VGA1 and HDMI2/VGA2 show independent layouts.
What is Ultra 265?
Uniview’s compression. It records the same picture as H.265 in less space, so the drive holds more days of footage. H.265 and H.264 are supported too.
What does ANR do?
If the network drops, compatible Uniview cameras keep recording to their SD card and the NVR pulls the missing footage back when the link returns.
How far can the cameras be from the recorder?
It has no PoE ports, so the cameras plug into a PoE switch and the switch connects to the recorder. Each Cat6 run from the switch can be up to 100 m, and switches can be placed around the site.
Can I mount it in a rack?
Yes. It is a 2U, 19-inch case that mounts with Uniview FL-2U rack ears — ask us if you need a set.
What is the warranty?
Uniview 3-year manufacturer warranty, handled in Australia through InFront. Contact us first and we will organise any claim.
Supported by Infront Technologies.

Installation and safety
Power. Runs from 100–240 V AC. Power off before fitting or removing hard drives, and earth the case.
Placement. Use indoors between −10 °C and 50 °C, under 90% humidity, with space around the vents. Keep it somewhere secure so a thief cannot take the footage with it.
