Half a kilometre,
day and night.
This is the Uniview IPC6828EL-X42-W-VH1. Uniview’s long-range 8MP 4K PTZ: a 6–252 mm 42× lens, laser IR to 500 m, a wiper, defog and gyroscope stabilisation. Built for ports, borders, farms and big industrial sites.
In one sentence: the IPC6828EL-X42-W-VH1 is an 8MP (3840 × 2160) PTZ with a 6.0–252 mm F1.2–4.6 lens, 42× optical zoom, 500 m laser IR, LightHunter, optical and digital defog, EIS, wiper, auto tracking, 1024 presets, IP67, powered by Hi-PoE (802.3bt) or 24 V.
Plan for Hi-PoE or 24 V, and a strong mount.
It draws up to 67 W and weighs 6.9 kg, so it needs an 802.3bt port or a 24 V supply and a heavy-duty bracket. Ask us to size the power and mount for your site.
- IPC6828EL-X42-W-VH1 camera
- Waterproof cable parts
- Quick guide
- A Hi-PoE (802.3bt) port, or a 24 V DC or AC supply rated for 67 W
- Cat6 cable to the camera
- A heavy-duty wall or corner bracket (TR-WE45-A-IN or TR-UC08-A-IN)
- A microSD card up to 512GB, to record on the camera
Detail at distances other PTZs cannot reach.
At 6 mm it sees 57.96° across; at 252 mm, 2.15°. Uniview rates it to identify a person at up to 482.9 m fully zoomed in. The IR zooms with the lens out to 500 m, and optical defog cuts through haze and smoke.

Design
A wiper on the window.
The built-in wiper clears rain and dust from the window, and a heater keeps it working in the cold.

Build
Heavy-duty, IP67.
6 kV surge protection and a working range of −40 °C to 70 °C. Pan 360° endless at up to 180°/s.

Dimensions
Ø226.7 × 440.3 mm, 6.9 kg.
Plan for a solid bracket: Uniview lists the TR-WE45-A-IN wall mount and TR-UC08-A-IN corner mount among its accessories.
How it goes in
From the box to patrolling.
01
Plan power and mount
Pick a high, rigid point such as a steel pole or a parapet. Check the 802.3bt port or 24 V supply can deliver 67 W.
02
Fix the bracket
Mount the bracket on a solid wall, corner or pole, run the cable through it and hang the camera. Seal the cable joint with the supplied waterproof parts.
03
Power it up
Run Cat6 to the bt port, or connect the 24 V supply, and add it to the NVR.
04
Set presets and rules
Save presets along the far boundary, set patrols, draw lines and zones and turn on auto tracking.

Common questions
What is laser IR?
An infrared illuminator that zooms with the lens, so it lights the distant spot you are zoomed into rather than spreading light everywhere. Uniview rates it to 500 m.
Why does it need so much power?
The long zoom motor, laser IR, heater and wiper together draw up to 67 W. That needs Hi-PoE (802.3bt) or a 24 V supply; PoE+ is not enough.
What is the wiper for?
It clears rain, dew and dust from the window, which matters at long zoom where small marks spoil the picture.
Does it stay steady on a pole?
It has a gyroscope for electronic image stabilisation, which steadies the picture at long zoom in wind.
How many alarm inputs?
Seven alarm inputs and two outputs, plus RS485, so it can work with fence sensors, beams and sirens.
What is a preset and a patrol?
A preset is a saved position with its own pan, tilt and zoom, such as the gate, the loading dock or the car park entry. A patrol moves the camera through a list of presets on a timer, so one camera keeps watch over several spots.
Does it need a bracket?
Yes. A PTZ camera is heavier than a fixed camera and needs a solid wall, corner, ceiling or pole mount. The Uniview mounts listed for it are shown under What goes with it; call us if you are not sure which one suits the site.
Will it work with my recorder?
Uniview NVRs add it and give you pan, tilt and zoom control from the recorder. Other ONVIF (Profile S, G, T, M) recorders can add it too; smart events and PTZ control depend on that recorder.
Can I control it from my phone?
Yes. In the Uniview EZView app you can watch live, pan, tilt and zoom, jump to presets and play back recordings.
Can it record on its own?
Yes, to a microSD card of up to 512GB. With an NVR, ANR fills any gap from the card when a network drop-out ends.
How is it powered?
By Hi-PoE (IEEE 802.3bt) from a switch or injector with a bt port, or from a 24 V DC or 24 V AC supply. It draws up to 67 W with the IR, heater and wiper running, far more than PoE+ can supply.
What is the warranty?
Uniview 3-year manufacturer warranty, handled in Australia through InFront. Contact us first and we will organise any claim.
Supported by Infront Technologies.

Installation and safety
Power. Use an 802.3bt port or a regulated 24 V DC or AC supply rated for at least 67 W. The alarm and RS485 connections are low voltage only.
Weather. IP67 with 6 kV surge protection, rated from −40 °C to 70 °C. Fix to a structure rated for 6.9 kg plus wind load.
