Akuvox A15 in-wall installation kit recesses the A15 face-recognition terminal into the wall. You get the black flush-mounting box, two tabs that set it level with the wall surface, and the screws and anchors to fix it into a 166 × 48 × 40 mm cut-out.

The AK-A15INWALLK is the Akuvox flush-mounting kit for the A15. The box sits in a 166 × 48 × 40 mm recess and the A15 hooks onto it, so the terminal sits close to the wall instead of on the surface bracket that comes with it.

Mounting hardware only.

The kit holds everything to flush-mount one A15. The A15 terminal is a separate item; it comes with its own wall bracket, Torx screws and wrench.

A recessed A15 keeps its cabling inside the wall, and the terminal is held to the box by Torx screws underneath.

The box

Knockouts on every side.

The box is 164 mm tall and 46.5 mm wide with 38.4 mm of depth, and has cable knockouts on both sides and the back.

The A15 hooks onto the hanger at the top of the box and its lower slots onto the hooks at the bottom, then two M3×6 Torx screws underneath hold it in.

How it works

From bare wall to flush terminal.

Cut and mark

Cut a 166 × 48 × 40 mm (H × W × D) recess where the cables come out, offer up the box and mark its four fixing holes. Drill them 6 mm wide and 20 mm deep and insert the anchors.

Set the depth

Screw the two mounting box tabs to the box with M4×30 screws, knock out the cable entries you need and press the box in until the tabs sit flat on the wall.

Fix and finish

Fix the box with four ST4×20 screws, fill the gaps with the wall material, then remove the tabs and check all four edges are flush before the A15 goes on.

Which terminal does it fit?

The Akuvox A15 face-recognition access control terminal.

What size hole do I need?

166 × 48 × 40 mm (H × W × D), with the cables already inside it. The box itself is 164 × 46.5 mm and 38.4 mm deep.

What are the mounting box tabs for?

They screw to the box with the M4×30 screws and rest on the wall face, so the box goes in at the right depth. Once the box is fixed and the gaps are filled, you unscrew them and check the box edges are flush with the wall.

How is the A15 held in the box?

The A15 hooks onto the box at the top and bottom, then two M3×6 Torx screws under the terminal lock it in. Those screws and the Torx wrench come with the A15.

What is in the box?

Do I need this kit to install an A15?

Only for a flush install. The A15 comes with a wall-mounting bracket for surface mounting.
