Water on the lens and harsh overhead sun are what spoil most door pictures. The hood deals with both and keeps the keypad and reader drier.

Protection

Rain runs off, not across the lens.

The canopy covers the top and both sides of the station, so rain sheds clear of the camera window, keypad and card-reader area.

It also cuts overhead sun on the camera, which helps on exposed north- and west-facing entries.

R20K, R25K and every R20B button version share the same 185 × 85 × 24 mm housing, so one hood covers them all.

Frames a flush-mounted station: it is fitted with the R20K / R25K / R20B in-wall installation kit, so the hood, station and flush box lock together.

Akuvox R20K, R25K and R20B (2, 3, 4 or 5 buttons) — all 185 × 85 mm. It does not fit the shorter R20A / R25A, which have their own hoods.
