The AK-E12W-BLACK is Akuvox’s E12W in black: the award-winning E12 single-button doorbell with dual-band Wi-Fi 6 built in. Give it 12 V DC at the door and it joins the home network without a data run — or plug in RJ45 and PoE if a cable is already there.
This SKU is the door station only.
You receive the black E12W surface-mount doorbell. Indoor monitors, rain hood, angle bracket, power supply and lock hardware are sold separately.

Visitors press once and the call rings an Akuvox monitor or the SmartPlus app over Wi-Fi. Residents skip the call — tap a card, tap an Android phone (NFC), or unlock from the app.
Camera
See who is there, day or night.
A 2 MP 1/2.7″ CMOS camera covers 123° horizontally and 69° vertically and streams H.264 up to 1920 × 1080 at 30 fps.
A light sensor switches on the white-light LED for night calls, down to 0.1 lux. Echo cancellation keeps two-way audio clear on a busy street.
Connection
Dual-band Wi-Fi 6 — or a cable.
E12W connects over 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax on 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz, so a retrofit only needs power at the door. It keeps an RJ45 10/100 port and 802.3af PoE for sites that have a cable.
Calls run over SIP to Akuvox indoor monitors, the SmartPlus app or a SIP PBX, and the camera streams over RTSP / ONVIF to an NVR.
Access
Card, phone or NFC.
The 13.56 MHz reader takes MIFARE and DESFire EV1 / EV2 / EV3 credentials, Android phones unlock over NFC, and the station also has Bluetooth (BLE 5.0). The station holds 1,000 users and 5,000 cards.
One relay releases a strike or maglock; two inputs take an exit button and door sensor, and the Wiegand port is selectable as input or output.

Mount
Fix the station to the door frame or pier. Add the E12 rain hood on exposed elevations or the angle bracket to aim the camera.

Power and join Wi-Fi
Land 12 V DC (or PoE if a cable is there), then join the station to the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network in the web portal.

Register
Pair it with Akuvox indoor monitors, SmartPlus or your SIP PBX and enrol cards and users.
04
Test the door
Press the button, check the picture day and night, and confirm the relay releases the lock.

Common questions
What is the difference between E12S and E12W?
Same housing, camera and reader. E12W adds dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (2.4 / 5 GHz) alongside RJ45; E12S is the wired Ethernet version. This listing is the E12W.
Is there a silver version?
Yes. The E12 comes in silver (black glass over a brushed silver panel) and all black. This listing is black; the silver E12W is a separate SKU.
How is it powered?
12 V DC at the door, or IEEE 802.3af PoE if you run a network cable to the RJ45 port.
Which cards does it read?
13.56 MHz MIFARE and DESFire EV1 / EV2 / EV3 cards and fobs, plus NFC from Android phones. It does not read 125 kHz EM cards. It stores up to 1,000 users and 5,000 cards.
Can I open the door from my phone?
Yes. SmartPlus app users can answer calls and unlock from anywhere, and Android phones can also unlock over NFC at the door.
Will it record to my NVR?
Yes. The E12W supports ONVIF and RTSP, so most ONVIF-capable NVRs can add the 1080p door camera as a channel.
How high should it be mounted?
Akuvox's drawings put the camera centre 1,500 mm above the ground. Add the E12 rain hood on exposed doors, or the angle bracket when the doorbell sits side-on to visitors.
Is an indoor monitor included?
No. Pair it with a compatible Akuvox indoor monitor, the SmartPlus app or any SIP endpoint.
A video doorbell for doors without data.
Choose E12W when the front door has power but no network cable — or E12S when it does.
Installation & safety notice
Low-voltage product (SELV). Power from a 12 V DC supply or IEEE 802.3af PoE. Treat as SELV low-voltage equipment.
When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.
