S535 with the induction loop module.

The AK-S535-IL-KIT bundles Akuvox’s S535 5-inch facial recognition door phone with the S535 induction loop expansion unit. The loop sends call audio straight to hearing aids, making the entrance easier to use for people with hearing loss.

This kit is the S535 door station plus the induction loop module.

You receive the S535 main unit with its wiring accessories and the induction loop expansion module with its fixing screws. The mounting box is not included — use the S535 box made for an expansion module.

Visitors and residents with a hearing aid switched to its loop setting hear the conversation directly, without background street noise. Everyone else gets the full S535: face entry, cards, PINs, phones and QR codes.

Recognition

Residents walk straight in.

A 5-inch 720 × 1280 touchscreen, a 2 MP main camera and a 2 MP face-liveness camera. Akuvox quotes face matching in under 200 ms at 99.7% accuracy.

Up to 20,000 face templates, 100,000 cards and 100,000 PINs. Visitors use the on-screen directory to call a flat; video streams over RTSP and ONVIF to your NVR.

Built for outside

IP66, IK08 and −40 °C rated.

Aluminium front panel, IP66 against water and dust and IK08 for impact, rated −40 °C to +55 °C.

The loop module plugs into the expansion port with no extra wiring and takes the plate to 260 mm tall. Mount it in the S535 box made for modules.

Mobile access

Phones, cards and QR codes too.

BLE 5.0 supports hands-free entry, tap-to-go and shake-to-open with the Akuvox SmartPlus app, plus NFC and the Akuvox Bkey fob.

The 13.56 MHz and 125 kHz reader takes EM, MIFARE, DESFire EV2 / EV3 and FeliCa cards. One relay, two inputs, Wiegand and RS485 link to locks and access controllers.

Fit the box

Install the S535 on-wall or in-wall box for use with a module — it is taller than the standard box.

Attach the module

Remove the expansion port cover, plug in the induction loop module and secure it with the shoulder screws.

Wire and power

Connect PoE+ or 12 V DC and the lock, then register to Akuvox monitors, SmartPlus or your SIP PBX.

Test with a hearing aid

Place a call and check the loop with a hearing aid on its T setting, then confirm the relay releases the door.

Common questions

Is this only the induction loop module?

No. This kit includes the S535 door station and the induction loop module. The module on its own is AK-S535-IL.

Who benefits from the induction loop?

People whose hearing aids or cochlear implants have a T (telecoil) setting. Call audio is delivered straight to the device.

Which mounting box do I need?

The S535 on-wall or in-wall box made for modules. The standard S535 box is too short for the 260 mm assembled height; flush installs need a 255.5 × 94 × 34 mm opening.

What power does it need?

IEEE 802.3at PoE+, or a 12 V DC 3 A supply — 4 A if the 12 V / 500 mA output also powers a lock or reader.

Does the loop change how other people use the door?

No. Face, card, PIN, Bluetooth, NFC and QR entry and the on-screen directory work exactly as on a standard S535.

Will it record to my NVR?

Yes. The S535 supports ONVIF and RTSP, so most ONVIF-capable NVRs can add it as a camera channel.

Is an indoor monitor included?

No. Pair it with a compatible Akuvox indoor monitor, the SmartPlus app or any SIP endpoint.

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). Power from IEEE 802.3at PoE+ or a 12 V DC, 3 A supply (4 A with the 12 V output in use). Power the station off before fitting or removing the module.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.
