The AK-R20INWALLK is the Akuvox flush-mounting kit for the R20A and R25A. The steel box sits in the wall cavity; the silver flush-mounting bracket holds the door phone and frames it at the surface, so only a slim silver border shows around the station.

Mounting hardware only.

The kit contains everything to flush-mount one R20A or R25A. The door phone itself and the in-wall rain hood are sold separately.

A recessed station sits almost level with the wall face, keeps cabling hidden and locks in with Torx screws instead of hanging on a surface bracket.

What you get

Box plus a matching frame.

The steel flush-mounting box takes the cables and the body of the door phone. The silver flush-mounting bracket screws to the station with four M3×6 screws and forms the visible border.

Two M4×15 Torx screws lock the station into the box, so it cannot be lifted off the wall without the Torx wrench.

Fitting

One recess, sized by Akuvox.

Cut a 180 × 101 × 50 mm (H × W × D) recess with the cables inside, fix the box with four ST4×20 screws and anchors, then fill the gap with cement or non-corrosive adhesive.

On an exposed entry, add the R20A / R25A in-wall rain hood — it fits onto the same flush-mounting bracket before the station goes into the box.

From bare wall to flush door phone.

Cut and fix the box

Cut a 180 × 101 × 50 mm (H × W × D) recess, fit the flush-mounting box with four ST4×20 screws and wall anchors, then seal the gap with cement or non-corrosive adhesive.

Fit the frame

Screw the door station to the flush-mounting bracket with the four M3×6 screws and connect the cables through the wiring cover.

Lock it in

Push the station into the box and lock it with the two M4×15 Torx screws using the Torx wrench supplied.

Which door phones does it fit?

Akuvox R20A and R25A. Both use the same 145 × 85 mm housing and the same 180 × 101 × 50 mm flush cut-out. It does not fit the taller R20K, R25K or R20B.

What size hole do I need?

Akuvox specifies a 180 × 101 × 50 mm (H × W × D) recess, with the cables already inside it or a conduit to it.

What is different about the black version?

Only the colour of the flush-mounting bracket that frames the station. Box, fixings and fit are the same (AK-R20INWALLK-BLACK).

Can I add a rain hood?

Yes. The R20A / R25A in-wall rain hood fits onto the flush-mounting bracket; it is sold separately.

Match the frame to the door phone.

Choose silver to suit the silver R20A; the black kit (AK-R20INWALLK-BLACK) has the same box and fixings with a black frame. Order through Infront Technologies for Australian stock.

Installation & safety notice

For the strongest result Akuvox recommends screwing the box to the wall and filling the gap with cement or non-corrosive adhesive; setting the box in cement alone is quicker but less vandal-resistant.
