A PTZ flush with the ceiling,
with the body hidden above it.
This is the Uniview TR-FM180-IN. An indoor in-ceiling mount for Uniview 4-inch PTZ domes. The mount sits in a 210 mm hole in the ceiling, so only the dome shows below and the body and cabling stay out of sight.

Indoors a surface-mounted PTZ can look bulky. Recessed into the ceiling, it looks like a smoke detector-sized dome while still panning and zooming across the room.
Trim and clamps
Clamps grip the ceiling from above.
The Ø280 mm trim ring covers the cut edge, and the clamp arms on top swing out over the ceiling sheet when tightened.

Cut a Ø210 mm hole in the ceiling. The mount needs 91 mm of depth above the ceiling surface, and the camera fixes on three Ø5 mm holes on a 110 mm circle.

Cut the hole
Mark and cut a Ø210 mm hole, checking there is 91 mm of clear space above and no joist in the way.

Fit the mount
Push the mount up into the hole and tighten the clamps so they grip the ceiling from above.

Connect the PTZ
Run the cable down through the mount and connect the PTZ.

Fit and set up
Fix the PTZ into the mount, power up and set its presets.

What size hole do I cut?
Ø210 mm. The trim ring is Ø280 mm, so it covers the cut edge.
How much space do I need above the ceiling?
The mount is 91 mm deep; allow extra room for the camera body and cable bend.
What ceilings does it suit?
Plasterboard and suspended tile ceilings that can carry the mount and camera. The clamps grip the ceiling sheet from above.
Can I use it outdoors?
No. Uniview lists it for indoor use only. Outdoors, use the TR-WE45-IN wall arm.
Do I need access above the ceiling?
Only to run the cable to the hole. The mount itself is fitted from below.

Installation and safety
Fixing. Check the ceiling can carry the mount and camera; on a weak ceiling, add a support above. Turn off power before connecting the camera.
