Common questions

How does it work with a Uniview NVR?

Add it to the NVR as an IP speaker. When a camera or the NVR raises an alarm, the speaker plays the message you chose. You can also talk through it live.

How many messages can it store?

Up to 100 MP3 or WAV files in 64 MB of built-in storage.

Can I talk to people through it?

Yes. It has a built-in mic, so you can speak and listen — two-way audio.

How is it powered?

From an 802.3af PoE port, or a 12 V 1.4 A DC supply.

Can it be used with a phone system?

It supports SIP, so it can work with SIP phone systems for paging. Ask us to check your system.

Does it work with other brands?

It supports ONVIF, SIP and RTSP. Alarm broadcast is designed around Uniview NVRs and cameras.

Can I play background music?

It has an RCA audio input for an external source, and plays stored files.

Can an alarm sensor trigger it?

Yes. It has 2 alarm inputs for sensors or buttons.

Can it go outside?

No, it is an indoor ceiling speaker (−10 °C to 50 °C). For outdoors, use the IPS302030-S horn.

How loud is it?

Up to 100 dB, with 15 W output.

Is it NDAA compliant?

Yes, Uniview lists it as NDAA compliant.
