The AK-X912S is the stainless steel version of Akuvox’s X912 door phone. A 4-inch square touchscreen, two 2 MP cameras and a 13.56 MHz / 125 kHz card reader sit above a flush touch keypad in a 233.5 × 94 mm stainless panel rated IK10.

You receive the X912S with its wall-mounting bracket, template, fixings and wiring accessories, ready to surface-mount. The in-wall kit, rain covers, angle bracket, indoor monitors, PoE switch and lock hardware are sold separately.

Walk up and walk in.

Residents enter by face, Bluetooth, card or QR code; the touch keypad handles PINs and calls with no mechanical keys to wear or jam. Bluetooth access lets residents simply walk up to the door.

Design

A flush touch keypad.

The clear-cut rectangular outline, brushed metal finish and touch-sensitive keypad leave no keys on the surface to prise or wear out.

The 4-inch touchscreen (480 × 480) shows call, PIN and reception options, and two microphones with echo cancellation keep calls clear.

Build

Stainless steel, IK10 and IP65.

The X912S front is stainless steel with a touch keypad, giving an IK10 impact rating and IP65 protection against dust and rain. It works from −20 °C to +60 °C.

Two relays, three inputs, Wiegand in/out and RS485 connect a door, a gate and access control panels. Up to 20,000 faces, 100,000 cards and 20,000 PINs are stored on the station.

From bare wall to recognised face.

Fit the bracket

Fix the supplied wall bracket with the template, or install the X912 in-wall kit for flush. Add a rain cover or angle bracket where the site needs one.

Wire and power

Connect PoE 802.3at or 12 V DC, then the lock relays, exit buttons and door sensor inputs.

Register and enrol

Register to Akuvox indoor monitors, SmartPlus or your SIP PBX, then enrol faces, cards and PINs.

Test the door

Check face entry day and night, make a test call and confirm each relay releases its lock.

Standard SIP v1 / v2 lets the X912 call Akuvox indoor monitors, IP phones or extensions on your own PBX.

NVRs over ONVIF / RTSP

The door camera can be added to an ONVIF or RTSP-capable NVR and recorded alongside your CCTV.

Akuvox SmartPlus

Residents answer calls, unlock by Bluetooth and share QR-code keys from the SmartPlus app; SmartPlus can also link third-party emergency alarm systems to the X912.

Wiegand and RS485 access control

The selectable Wiegand port and RS485 connect third-party access controllers, readers and Akuvox relay modules.

Common questions

What is the difference between the X912K and X912S?

Same electronics, cameras, capacity and 233.5 × 94 × 34 mm size. The X912K has an aluminium-alloy front with a physical keypad, rated IK08. The X912S has a stainless steel front with a touch keypad, rated IK10.

How many users, faces and cards does it hold?

Up to 20,000 users, 20,000 face templates, 100,000 cards, 20,000 PINs and 5,000 contacts.

How does it stop someone using a photo to get in?

Alongside the 2 MP main camera, a second 2 MP camera and a TOF sensor handle face-liveness detection. Face recognition takes under 200 ms at 99.7% accuracy.

What power does it need?

IEEE 802.3at PoE+ or a 12 V DC supply. It also provides a 12 V / 1 A output for a lock or reader.

Is a mounting bracket included?

Yes. The box includes the wall-mounting bracket, template, screws and wall anchors for a surface mount. For a flush finish add the X912 in-wall installation kit; rain covers, a thick on-wall bracket and a 30° angle bracket are also available.

Is the touch keypad weatherproof?

The whole station is rated IP65 for dust and water. Add an X912 rain cover at fully exposed entrances to keep driving rain off the screen and keypad.

Which cards and phones can open the door?

13.56 MHz and 125 kHz EM, MIFARE and DESFire EV1 / EV2 / EV3 cards, NFC on Android phones, Bluetooth (BLE 5.0) and QR codes from the SmartPlus app, plus PIN and face.

Will it record to my existing NVR?

Yes. The X912 supports ONVIF and RTSP, so ONVIF-capable NVRs can add the door camera as a channel.

Choose the X912S for exposed or high-traffic entrances where vandal resistance matters.

Installation & safety notice

Low-voltage product (SELV). Power from IEEE 802.3at PoE or a 12 V DC supply. A 12 V / 1 A output is available for a lock or reader.

When a licensed tradesperson is required. Concealed data and intercom cabling is customer cabling under AS/CA S009 and must be installed by an ACMA-registered cabler. Electric locks, maglocks and lock power supplies may require a licensed electrician or security installer.
