The AK-A08-INWALL is Akuvox’s flush-mounting box for the A08S slim access terminal. It recesses the reader into the wall, so a narrow door frame or mullion gets a clean, low-profile reader.

This SKU is the in-wall box and fixings.

You receive the flush-mounting box with its screws and anchors. The A08S reader is sold separately.

The A08S is only 50 mm wide. Flush-mounted, it suits aluminium shopfront frames, mullions and the strip of wall beside a door where a bulky reader won’t fit.

Fit

Made for the A08S body.

The A08S measures 140 × 50 × 26.7 mm. This box recesses the reader and its wiring into the wall for a low-profile finish.

It suits both A08 versions we stock: the standard Bluetooth A08S and the HID iCLASS version.

Install

A 135 × 42 mm cut-out.

Cut the pocket 38 mm deep, offer the box up and mark its four fixing holes, then drill 6 mm holes and fit the anchors.

Feed the cables through the knock-outs, push the box in and tighten the four ST4×20 screws. Leave a drainage gap at the bottom.

Which readers does it fit?

The Akuvox A08S, including the HID iCLASS version — both use the same 140 × 50 × 26.7 mm body.

How big a hole do I need?

135 mm high, 42 mm wide and 38 mm deep. The box itself is 137 × 48 × 38 mm including its side flaps, which sit on the wall surface.

Are screws included?

Yes — four ST4×20 crosshead screws and four plastic wall anchors.

How high should the reader go?

Akuvox’s drawings show the bottom of the box at 1100 mm and the top of the panel no higher than 1240 mm above the floor.

Can I surface-mount the A08S instead?

Yes. Surface installs use the A08S wall-mounting box, which needs only a 50 × 29 mm cable hole.

Flush A08S installs.

Order one in-wall box per A08S you want recessed. For a surface install, the A08S uses its wall-mounting box instead.

Installation & safety notice

Fitting. Cut a 135 × 42 × 38 mm (H × W × D) hole at the cable position, open the box’s cable knock-outs, then fix the box with four ST4×20 screws so its side flaps sit on the wall. Leave a small gap at the bottom of the box for drainage — see the A08 quick guide.
