Akuvox A08S on-wall mounting box surface-mounts the slim A08S reader. The black box is 139.6 × 49.6 mm and 13.9 mm deep, fixes to the wall with the four screws and anchors supplied, and only needs a small 50 × 29 × 23 mm recess for the cables.

Surface-mount the A08S.
A small cable recess is all it needs.

The AK-A08-ONWALL is the Akuvox wall-mounting box for the A08S slim reader. It screws flat to the wall over a small cable recess, and the A08S hooks onto it and locks in with Torx screws.

Mounting hardware only.

You get the wall-mounting box with its screws and anchors. The A08S reader is a separate item; it comes with its own Torx screws and wrench.

Less cutting than a flush install.

Where a 135 × 42 × 38 mm flush cut-out isn't practical, this box keeps the A08S on the surface and needs only a 50 × 29 × 23 mm hole for the wiring.

The box

Slim, like the reader.

At 139.6 × 49.6 mm the box matches the A08S outline, and at 13.9 mm deep it keeps the reader close to the wall.

Four fixing holes, 115.6 mm apart vertically and 29.6 mm across, and a square opening behind for the cables.

How it works

Three steps to a mounted reader.

Cut and mark

Cut a 50 × 29 × 23 mm (H × W × D) recess at the cable position, line the box's square opening up with it and mark the four fixing holes.

Fix the box

Drill the holes with a 6 mm bit, insert the anchors and screw the box to the wall with the four ST4×20 screws, square to the floor.

Hang the reader

Wire the A08S, hook it onto the box, lower it until the two hooks sit in the grooves at the bottom, then fix it with the two M3×6 Torx screws.

What hole do I need in the wall?

Only a 50 × 29 × 23 mm (H × W × D) recess where the cables come out. The box itself sits on the wall surface.

How big is the box?

139.6 × 49.6 mm and 13.9 mm deep, or 25.55 mm deep measured at the tab on the base.

How is the reader held on?

The A08S hooks onto the box, drops onto two hooks at the bottom and is fixed with two M3×6 Torx screws. Those screws and the Torx wrench come with the reader.

What is in the box?

The wall-mounting box, four ST4×20 crosshead screws and four plastic wall anchors.

Can I flush-mount the A08S instead?

Yes, with the separate A08S in-wall flush-mounting box, which needs a 135 × 42 × 38 mm cut-out.
