The AK-S535-IL is the induction loop expansion unit for Akuvox’s S535 door phone. It fits the expansion port under the screen and couples call audio directly to hearing aids switched to their telecoil setting.

This SKU is the induction loop module only.

You receive the S535 induction loop expansion module with its fixing screws. It needs an Akuvox S535 door station; for a new install, the S535 induction loop kit (AK-S535-IL-KIT) includes both.

The module connects to the S535 expansion port, so there is no separate loop amplifier or cable to run at the door.

Users switch their hearing aid to its T (telecoil) setting and hear the call directly. The S535’s face, card, PIN, BLE and QR entry carry on as normal.

Mounting

Plan for the extra 50 mm.

With the module fitted the S535 measures 260 × 100 × 27 mm instead of 210 × 100 × 27 mm. The standard S535 box is too short.

Use the S535 in-wall or on-wall box made for expansion modules. The assembly keeps the S535’s IP66 and IK08 ratings.

Common questions

Does this include the S535 door phone?

No, it is the module only. AK-S535-IL-KIT includes the S535 and the induction loop module together.

Who benefits from the induction loop?

People whose hearing aids or cochlear implants have a T (telecoil) setting. Call audio is delivered straight to the device.

Can I fit more than one module?

No. The S535 has one expansion port, so choose fingerprint, induction loop or LTE.

Do I need a different mounting box?

Yes. The S535 with a module is 260 mm tall, so use the S535 box made for modules. A flush install needs a 255.5 × 94 × 34 mm opening.

Can it be fitted while the S535 is powered?

No. Power the station off, remove the expansion port cover, plug the module in and fasten the two shoulder screws.

Does it change the power the S535 needs?

On 12 V DC, Akuvox specifies 3 A with the loop module, or 4 A if the 12 V / 500 mA output also powers a lock or reader. IEEE 802.3at PoE+ is the alternative.

Installation & safety notice

Installation. Power the S535 off before fitting or removing the module — hot-plugging is not supported. Remove the expansion port cover, plug in the module and secure it with the shoulder screws, then mount the assembly in the S535 box made for modules.
