Akuvox AK-S538INWALLK flush-mounts the S538 8″ Android facial recognition door phone. The metal back box fits a 290 × 130 × 34 mm wall opening, the flush bracket screws onto it, and the S538 slides down onto the bracket for a built-in finish. Screws and anchors included.

The AK-S538INWALLK is Akuvox’s flush-mounting kit for the S538. The door phone ships without a box; this kit sets the 8″ station into the wall so it reads as part of the entry.

This SKU is the in-wall installation kit.

You receive the box, bracket and fixings listed below, as shown in the Akuvox S538 installation guide. The S538 door phone is sold separately.

A recessed S538 sits close to the wall face on lobbies and new-build entries, with cabling and terminals hidden in the box.

In the kit

Back box plus bracket.

The metal flush box has three 25 mm knock-outs on the back and more on the ends, and fixes into the wall with six ST4×20 screws and anchors.

The flush bracket screws onto the box with six M4×8 screws. The S538 slides down onto it and is secured with the Torx screw supplied with the door phone.

Sized for the S538.

The box measures 289.5 × 129.4 × 33.2 mm and needs a 290 × 130 × 34 mm opening; the 297 × 136.4 mm S538 front covers it.

On exposed entries, add the S538 in-wall rain cover around the recessed door phone.

Common questions

How big a hole do I need?

290 mm high, 130 mm wide and 34 mm deep. The opening can be a little larger; fill around the box afterwards.

Does the S538 come with a mounting box?

No. Every S538 needs either this in-wall kit or the S538 on-wall kit.

Can the box be set in adhesive instead of screws?

Yes. Akuvox describes a simpler method with the box bedded in cement or non-corrosive structural adhesive, then sealed against water. It is less vandal-resistant than the screwed method.

How should cables enter the box?

Knock out one of the 25 mm cable entries, run the cables or PVC conduit through it, then fix the box so its edge is flush with the wall.

Which rain cover goes with a flush install?

The S538 in-wall rain cover. The on-wall rain cover is for surface-mounted units.

What mounting height does Akuvox show?

The drawings place the bottom of the S538 about 1,007 mm above ground, keeping the usable parts below 1,219 mm for accessible entries.

Is the door phone included?

No. The kit contains the box, bracket and fixings only.

Order one kit per S538 you want recessed, and add the S538 in-wall rain cover on exposed entries. For surface installs use the S538 on-wall kit.

Installation & safety notice

Fitting. Cut a 290 × 130 × 34 mm (H × W × D) opening, knock out a cable entry, fix the box with six ST4×20 screws and anchors (edge aligned with the wall, tilt under 2°), then fix the bracket with six M4×8 screws.
