Akuvox AK-S532WALLPLATE is the silver cover back plate for surface-mounting an S532 where an old intercom used to be. It goes against the wall behind the S532 on-wall box and hides the opening, screw holes and marks left by the old panel, giving the new door phone a clean background. It fixes with the screws from the S532 on-wall installation kit.

The AK-S532WALLPLATE is Akuvox’s cover back plate for the S532, the retrofit-friendly SIP door phone built to replace analogue intercoms. When the old panel comes off, the plate covers what it leaves behind and the S532 mounts on top.

This SKU is the cover back plate.

You receive the silver cover back plate. The S532 door phone and the S532 on-wall installation kit (box, template, screws and anchors) are sold separately.

A clean wall for the new door phone.

Taking an old intercom panel off can leave a cut-out, screw holes and marks that the S532 on its own won’t cover. The plate hides them behind one flat silver panel, without patching and painting the wall first.

Design

One flat plate, behind the box.

A flat silver plate with a centre opening for the cables and four fixing holes that line up with the S532 on-wall box.

The plate sits between the wall and the box, and the box’s screws hold both, so there is nothing extra to fix.

Fitting

Covers the old intercom’s footprint.

Akuvox’s fitting drawing shows the plate over the opening left by the old panel, with the S532 on-wall box screwed through it into the wall.

The S532 then hangs on the box and is secured with its Torx screw, exactly as on a plain wall.

What is it for?

Retrofits. When an S532 replaces an older intercom, the plate covers the cut-out, holes and marks the old panel leaves, and the S532 on-wall box mounts on top of it.

Do I still need the S532 on-wall kit?

Yes. This SKU is the plate only; the box, template, screws and anchors come from the S532 on-wall installation kit.

Can I use it with a flush-mounted S532?

No. It goes behind the on-wall box, so it is for surface-mounted S532 units.

What colour is it?

Silver, to suit the S532’s silver aluminium alloy front panel.

Is the door phone included?

No. This SKU is the cover plate only.

Retrofit or new wall?

Use the plate where the S532 replaces an existing intercom. On a clean wall the S532 on-wall kit is all you need; for a recessed finish use the S532 in-wall kit.

Installation & safety notice

Fitting. Stick the S532 wall-mounting template to the wall with the cables through its cable hole — if an embedded box is already in the wall, line the template up with its screw holes. Drill six 6 mm holes 25 mm deep and insert the anchors. Put the cover plate against the wall with the on-wall box over it and fix both with four ST4×20 screws, then finish the S532 on-wall installation as normal — see the Akuvox S532 cover plate quick guide.
