The AK-LTEMOD is Akuvox’s internal LTE module. Installed in an LTE-ready door phone with a data SIM, it carries calls and cloud traffic over 4G.

This SKU is the LTE module only.

You receive the LTE module with the small parts Akuvox packs for the model. The LTE-ready door phone, power supply and SIM card are not included.

Install

Fits behind the rear cover.

On the R29 the rear cover comes off, the module seats in its socket and is fixed with one screw, then the two RF cables are clipped on.

The SIM card goes into the door phone’s own slot and is sealed with the rubber plug. Follow the attached Akuvox guide for the exact steps.

Common questions

Which door phones does it fit?

LTE-ready Akuvox models: R20K-L, R29C-L, E18C and X916S-L. Check that your door phone is an LTE-ready (-L) version before ordering.

Will it work on Australian networks?

In the R20K-L it covers LTE bands 1, 3, 5, 7 and 28 among others, which include the main Australian 4G bands. Check coverage at the door first.

Is a SIM included?

No. Use a data SIM from your chosen carrier; it goes in the door phone’s SIM slot, not on the module.

Is it hard to install?

The rear cover comes off, the module is seated in its socket and fixed with one screw, the RF cable(s) are clipped on and the cover goes back. Akuvox’s guide is attached.

Can I open the door phone with the SIM fitted?

No. Akuvox warns against opening the rear cover while a SIM card is installed — remove the SIM first.

Do I still need power at the door?

Yes. LTE replaces the data cable, not the power supply.

Is it the same module as the S535 LTE module?

No. The S535 uses its own plug-on LTE expansion unit (AK-S535-LTE) that mounts below the screen.

Power the door phone down before fitting. Do not open the rear cover with a SIM installed. The module draws its power from the door phone.
